Administrator’s Corner
Divine Mercy Sunday, April 3, 2016
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
May God grant you a very grace-filled Easter season of the Lord’s Resurrection!
We have just celebrated Easter Vigil and Sunday last weekend with joy and love of Jesus the Risen Lord. Our parish
welcomed 19 newly Catholic members into our Church during the Easter Vigil: 13 members received all three sacraments of Baptism, Communion and Confirmation; 6 members received Communion and Confirmation. These 19 newly
members are very happy and grateful to God and to Adult and Children Faith Formation Team. If you know someone
would like to become Catholics next Easter Vigil April 15, 2017, please give them page 14 of this bulletin and encourage
them to call us as soon as possible to start a class right away.
This past Easter Monday, we began to demolish our 23 year old modular building. We are deeply grateful to our
previous beloved pastors and countless parishioners for generously putting it up for the Church and School’s usage for
the last 23 years. It is now a right time to build a new two story building - 1st floor for Church Office & 2nd floor for
Meeting Rooms. We will soon launch this year PSA goal 128 K and will save its Rebate for Restricted Building Fund.
The readings for this Divine Mercy Sunday are about God’s mercy, the necessity for trusting faith and the need for the
forgiveness of sins. In practicing the Divine Mercy Sunday during this Holy Year of Mercy, we may do the followings.
To accept God’s invitation to celebrate and practice mercy by celebrating God’s mercy throughout the year through the
Sacrament of Reconciliation, or by finding time for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament to receive and give thanks for
Divine Mercy. Please see page 15 of this bulletin for our Church schedule of Daily Eucharistic Adoration. It is mainly
through the corporal and spiritual works of mercy that we practice mercy in our daily lives and become eligible for
God’s merciful judgment. To ask God for the Faith that culminates in self-surrender to God and leads us to serve those
we encounter with love. Blessed Mother Teresa - will become a saint in September 4 this year - presents it this
way: “If we pray, we will believe; if we believe, we will love; if we love, we will serve. Only then we put our love of
God into action.”
Peace in the Risen Christ,
Fr. Bao

Message of His Holiness Pope Francis
for the Celebration of the XLIX World Day Of Peace
1 January 2016
Continuation from last week…
Understood in this way, solidarity represents the moral and social attitude which best corresponds to an awareness of the scourges of our own day, and to the growing interdependence, especially in a globalized world, between the lives of given individuals and communities and those of other men and women in the rest of the
world.[24]
Building a culture of solidarity and mercy to overcome indifference
Solidarity, as a moral virtue and social attitude born of personal conversion, calls for commitment on the part
of those responsible for education and formation.
I think first of families, which are called to a primary and vital mission of education. Families are the first
place where the values of love and fraternity, togetherness and sharing, concern and care for others are lived
out and handed on. They are also the privileged milieu for transmitting the faith, beginning with those first
simple gestures of devotion which mothers teach their children.[25]

Mensaje de esta Semana ....
Domingo de la Misericordia, 3 de abril de 2016
Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,
Feliz Pascua!
2) Pidamos a Dios

An Nghỉ Trong Chúa
Cha Bảo, sơ Tươi, Ban Thường Vụ cùng toàn thể
cộng đoàn dân Chúa xin gởi lời nguyện cầu và thành
kính phân ưu đến đại gia đình tang quyến Cụ Ông
Andrê Đặng Quang Khoát, Thân phụ cô Thúy và là
Nhạc phụ của thầy sáu Đông vừa qua đời và an tang.
Nguyện xin Thiên Chúa Ba Ngôi Tình Yêu, qua lời
chuyển cầu của Đức Mẹ La Vang, Thánh Giuse,
Thánh Phêrô và Thánh Cêcilia, sớm đưa linh hồn
Andrê về Thiên Quốc. Xin Ngài ban niềm an ủi và
niềm tin Phục Sinh trên đại gia đình tang quyến.

PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
St. Cecilia parish is a living sign of God’s saving Word. We
have been called by God to foster a genuine, caring Catholic
Christian community. God empowers us to be a visible sign of
His Kingdom in the world.
YOU…..THE PARISH NEEDS YOU TO VOLUNTEER!
Fr. Bao and Fr. Wayne and Fr. Agustin invite YOU to please
take a moment to look at the page to your left to see all kinds of
ministries and services we have here at St. Cecilia. Please pray
and talk about it with your family and call these ministry leaders
for more details. You may consider helping out only once a
month, 12 times per year. There is not a lot of commitment
required. Thank you so very much! God bless!
