AFCU to Launch a New Website and Home
Banking Service on January 31st
Remote access to your finances while on-the-go is imperative. As a result, we have developed a new
state-of-the-art website and home banking service (AeroAccess) to meet your needs. Here are some of
the new home banking services that were designed with you in mind:
• MoneyHQ – Consolidated view of accounts at AFCU and elsewhere (account aggregation)
° External transfers to and from non-AFCU accounts
° Optional account alerts
• eBills – View electronic summaries of your bills online (e.g. cell phone, utility, credit cards)
and pay them via AFCU online bill pay
° Includes optional alerts for when a new bill arrives and “payment due date” reminders
• 24/7 AeroAccess Home Banking Support through our dedicated phone number
• Secure messaging with AFCU staff members – Submit messages through home banking
using our new encrypted messaging feature
• Bill payment calendars - Showing the date the money will be sent and the day that the
payment will be delivered – all backed by a $25,000 on-time payment guarantee
• Personal Financial Management (PFM) tool – Track expenditures and view detailed charts
to help you budget
• Online check reordering
• Streamlined design will allow for faster page loading on most browsers
• Self-initiated password reset
• One-click access from the home page to our most
frequently visited pages – current rates, calculators,
contact information
Additional feature included:
• Mobile Banking – View balances and history, pay bills,
transfer funds or send AFCU a secure message on your
smart phone
And, coming shortly after our initial launch:
• Remote Deposit Capture – Scan checks using a home
scanner and deposit them directly into your AFCU account
without leaving home!

Heard the News? It Pays to be An AFCU Member
Over the last four years Aerospace Federal Credit Union has issued
more than $2 million in BONUS dividends to our members; a little
something extra for being an AFCU member and saving your money
with us! Furthermore, in this low interest rate environment, AFCU is
especially pleased to provide a silver lining to 2010 by continuing
with this benefit. Thank you to all our members for your continued
loyalty. If you haven’t done so already, check your December 2010
statement to see your bonus dividend for last year.
Celebrating 50 Years of Service to Our Members
YEARS
1961 - 2011
Shortly after The Aerospace Corporation was established as a FFRDC,
AFCU opened its doors in 1961 to serve the financial service needs of
their employees. That unique and well-defined field of membership was
expanded soon thereafter to include LAAFB and the immediate family
members of these groups. Since our inception our mission has been
dedicated to delivering comprehensive financial services, anticipating
members’ needs and exceeding their expectations, with unwavering
commitment to sound business practices. AFCU takes great pride in the
fact that we have remained a safe and secure credit union for the past
50 years. We continue to be well-capitalized, poised for future growth,
and stay away from risky loan practices.
Over the years we have expanded our products from primary share saving
accounts to IRA, checking and term saving accounts, and core loan
products such as auto and consumer loans to include Visa® Credit
Cards and a complement of mortgage and HELOC loans. Moving
forward, we are confident that we will continue to advance our
service with contemporary tools such as our new state-of-the-art
website, home banking service and mobile banking.
To commemorate our success, we want to celebrate our 50th
Anniversary with our members. Throughout the year we will host
a variety of special events and promotions that will award some
fabulous prizes!

We’re Accepting Applications for Our 2011
College Scholarships
Aerospace Federal Credit Union recognizes the value and importance of education. In
observation of those values, AFCU awards five $500 scholarships annually to graduating
high school seniors.
Selection is based on the student’s commitment to community and school service, a
written essay, as well as academic achievement. Applicants must have an established
membership history with AFCU for at least 18 months prior to the scholarship application
deadline. If you have a child or grandchild graduating high school this year, make sure
they apply. Applications for the 2011 graduating class must be postmarked no later than
April 30, 2011. Visit the Youth Products page at www.aerofcu.org to download the
requirements and application.
AFCUSmile Program Winner Announced
Throughout 2010, AFCU honored the “people helping people” credit union philosophy by randomly
giving away $10 bills to encourage random acts of kindness. Recipients of the $10 bills were designated
“AFCUSmile Ambassadors” and asked to do something with the money that would put a smile on
someone else’s face. Several hundred members were touched by the program – either from being an
ambassador and passing along the good deed to an unsuspecting person or by receiving one of the
good deeds initiated by AFCU.
To make our own impact on the movement, AFCU staff surprised Aerospace Corporation employees, as
well as military and civilians on base, by purchasing coffee for them on three different mornings in the
cafeterias. More than 50 people shared their AFCUSmile stories about the way the program impacted
their lives on our blog.
AFCU selected a winner for the $500 grand prize based on the originality of their idea and who stretched
their $10 the furthest. Congratulations Kathy H.! She stretched the initial $10.00 bill from AFCU to about
$100.00 with matching donations from friends and family. The
money was then used to buy basic necessities for several young
mothers and their children! Upon winning the $500 grand prize,
Kathy chose to donate it to the same organization she initially
helped. Additionally, she spends her days off going to the store
and buying whatever is needed at the time. Thank you Kathy
and all of our other program participants. The stories you shared
were truly inspiring.
