Managerial Committees

The most important executive level in Bci is made up of the managers reporting to
the chief executive officer, meeting in committees to revise business progress and
orient the strategic plans to achieve the corporate objectives, under the direction of the
policies adopted by the board.
Ensures the continuity of the operational risk management model and determines the
action plans for reducing the risk.
The following is a brief summary of the main management committees that are usually
headed by the chief executive officer:
Guides the technological strategy for the functioning of the Bci Corporation over the
next three years.

development, compensations, skills, succession, etc.

1955
“WE HAVE WORKED FOR MANY YEARS WITH BCI AND RELATIONS HAVE
ALWAYS BEEN VERY GOOD. THIS ALL BEGAN BECAUSE MY FATHER, MOHAMED
ALI DAIRE, ALWAYS HAD A CLOSE AND WARM RELATIONSHIP WITH THE BANK”.
70 years
being part of the lives
of its customers
In 1930, in order to obtain better opportunities in life, Mohamed Ali Daire left his native land of Syria and reached the port of
Coquimbo to reunite with part of his family that was installed in La Serena. Although still not 18 years old, not knowing the language
and having no capital, he decided to find a place in the commerce of the area. It was thus that, over a time of adversity aggravated by
the economic crisis of 1932, he continued to work in the textile market.
Mohamed Ali Daire, General Manager of
Almacenes Daire.
Customer since 1955.
With the passing of time, he showed an aptitude for the business and thanks to his entrepreneurial spirit, he formed his own family
business in 1955: the La Batalla shop. Five years later, two of his sons, Masna and Pedro, joined the business with the intention to
follow in his footsteps.
At the same time, Banco Bci opened its first office in La Serena and Mohamed Ali Daire became its first customer. As his on Pedro
recalls, the support of Bci was very important to his father at that time. “He has always been a great supporter of the Bank because it
helped him a lot at the start; he then came to adulate it”.
Since that moment, Banco Bci has supported the creation and development of the businesses of Mohamed Ali who today, 95 years
old, enjoys the success of Almacenes Daire, his textile and household goods businesses which continue to be active thanks to the
work of his sons. To recognize his outstanding professional life, Banco Bci oponed a checking account for him at the office in the Antarctic: “My father felt very proud about this gesture, the Bank has always behaved well toward him and us, has always offered a hand,
and I think that this is because my father always met his commitments, was very correct and this gave the Bank confidence in him”.
