Our History
In 1984, best friends Eric Bensussen and Jay Deutsch transformed a shared passion for sports into a thriving business that would
redefine an industry. Originally founded as Sports Marketing, Inc., the company was dedicated to connecting fans to the teams they loved
through merchandise. As the company broadened its focus into corporate America and began hiring associates, Jay and Eric renamed the
agency Bensussen Deutsch & Associates (BDA). Since this time, BDA has earned a reputation for helping companies extend their brands
through meaningful merchandise experiences. BDA’s full-service approach to creating merchandise into a client’s brand framework
and business objectives has successfully transformed the three-dimensional advertising category, giving birth to a new concept: the
Merchandise AgencySM.
Today, BDA is 450 associates strong and operates in offices across the globe to bring clients’ brands to life through merchandise that
interacts, involves and inspires. In addition to working with hundreds of the Fortune 500’s most admired brands, BDA also manages
merchandise promotions in conjunction with leading Hollywood studios, major sports leagues including MLB, NFL, and the NCAA, and top
video gaming companies.
