BAPTISM: Through Baptism we joyfully welcome new members into the Community of
Faith. Baptisms are celebrated on the third Sunday of each month at 1:00 P.M. Parents
are required to participate in one pre-Baptism seminar offered during the months of
January, April, July, and October.
RECONCILIATION: After 8:00 a.m. Daily Mass by Request & Saturday: 12:00 - 12:30PM
MINISTRY TO SICK: Your priests are available for sacramental ministry in the home. The
Sacrament of the Sick is celebrated by the community in the Spring and Fall in
conjunction with other special parish and liturgical events. Please call the Parish Center to
inform us of the needs of the sick.
MARRIAGES: Couples must meet with a priest at least six months prior to their
wedding date. No date can be confirmed until this meeting. Couples must attend an
approved pre-marriage preparation program. Our parish program uses the Sponsor
Couple Program. Information can be obtained at the initial meeting with the priest.
RCIA (RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION): The Easter Season welcomes new
Catholics or those adult Catholics who wish to complete their Sacraments of
Initiation (Holy Communion, Confirmation) into full communion with the Church.
This is a process of prayer, study, and decision. Any adult who wishes to inquire
further should contact the Parish Center.

The Diocese of Pittsburgh is planning its annual Golden
Wedding Celebration for couples who are celebrating their
50th wedding anniversary. This year’s event will begin with
Mass at St. Paul Cathedral on Sunday, October 20, 2013
at 2:30 p.m. Bishop Zubik will be the main celebrant. A
reception will follow in the lower hall at the Cathedral.
Cathedral and hall are both accessible.
If you are one of the couples celebrating your 50th
anniversary in 2013, and would like to receive an invitation
to this event, please call the rectory or drop a note in the
collection basket no later than August 11.
Women’s Retreat: Walking with Jesus empowered by the
Spirit that is what will happen the weekend of September 6,

or experience required. Good for people of any faith. If this
sounds good to you, your help is needed as a Hall Monitor
or Classroom Aide during Children’s Faith Formation,
Monday evenings 6:30 – 8:00 PM, September through
March. These are important jobs! Even if you can help only

Diocesan Women’s Conference: Women ALIVE! In
Prayer: Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 19 for
the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s Catholic Women’s Conference
at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown. Registration
will open on August 1. Online registration and a
downloadable form are available at www.diopitt.org. A
registration form will also be in the August 2 edition of the
Pittsburgh Catholic. This day-long program planned by
women for women begins with morning prayer, is filled with
thoughtfully planned workshops to enrich women’s prayer
life, includes Eucharistic Adoration and concludes at Mass
with Bishop Zubik.
HELP WANTED: Liturgy of the Word for Children, Just
Once a Month: Our Liturgy of the Word for Children team
is growing nicely. We may soon be able to offer Liturgy of
the Word for Children (for age 4 through Grade 2) every
weekend at the 9:30 AM Mass (right now it is offered only
on the 2nd and last Sundays of each month). We need a
few more volunteers who would be willing to receive
training for proclaiming the Gospel, preparing interactive
child-friendly homilies, and leading Liturgy of the Word for
Children just once each month. You must be a practicing
Catholic who is willing to complete the Diocesan clearance
process, receive training, and prepare your assigned
Liturgies in advance using our materials. If you are
interested, please contact the Faith Formation Office.
SUMMER HELP WANTED: Middle Schoolers, High
School Teens or Parent/Child Teams: Can you spare a
morning or afternoon in August to help prepare classrooms
for the new School Year, please call the Faith Formation
Office? Help is needed with dusting, cleaning, vacuuming.
