AL-Baath University
Al-Baath University was established in 1973.
It is one of the Syrian governmental universities.
Hama University was established (on the basis of many
faculties located in Hama Governorate and previously were
following to AL-Baath University) by the presidency decree
number 19 for the year 2014.
The University Faculties are located in Homs and Palmyra.
Al-Baath University is located in the central region of Syria,
where there are livestock and chemical industries and textile
industries, in addition to the, monuments and tourism, which
requires the university attention to various types of science.
Al Baath University is characterized by some faculties and
department that does not exist in other universities, especially
Veterinary Medicine, Chemical and Petroleum Engineering,
Food Engineering, Music Education, Tourism and Health
Sciences.

Our Mission
Al-Baath University work to prepare graduates who are able to meet
the needs of society, and to develop scientific research, especially
those researches related to national issues relevant to economic and
social development, humanitarian and technical.
It also works to participate in the enrichment of human knowledge and
global culture, nationalism, and address the strengthening of Arab
identity appropriate to this age through the production of scientific,
intellectual, literary and technical support for university students and
teachers.
The University is committed to achieving its mission the principle of
equal opportunities for males and females, young and old, able-bodied
and people with special needs.
The University is committed to ensuring academic freedom for teachers
and students, and it believes in freedom of expression and creativity
through scientific research and knowledge.
The University works to communicate with other universities, schools
and research centers, national, Arab and foreign.
Objectives of Al-Baath University
Development of research capacity and educational performance of the faculty
at the University of the scientific sessions, symposia and conferences
The development of joint programs between divisions, and programs,
biotechnology, and alternative energies, protection of the environment,
translation and recruitment of information technology
Make research centers, involving specialists in different areas of special interest
to the University and the region where there are, including the centers of
biotechnology and environmental protection, and other studies of childhood
Support scientific research and development and to provide scientific advice to
various sectors of production in the fields of petroleum, chemical, food, and
development were annexed the area of water resources and agricultural,
livestock and various sectors of development and production
Development of methods of collaborative learning, cooperative and self

Gaining the Scientific, regional and national accreditation for the university different
programs, departments and faculties.
Signing scientific research cooperation agreements with Aram, regional and international
Universities and research centers and organizations. This contributes to match Syrian social
and economic development needs.
The development of University self resources.
Emphasizing on Classical Arabic as mother tongue taking care on other international
languages.
Ensuring distinguished educational atmosphere for the preparation of qualified human
cadres of inventors, intellectuals and scientists.
Going far from narrow disciplinary towards widening the graduates’ practical and scientific
basis.
Establishing new specialties up to date with continual global development and society
needs.
Continual development for utilities, educational means and labs
Developing non academic university activities such as sport, social and artistic activities of

International Scientific Cooperation
The University has signed more than 200 Scientific Agreement in
the different scientific fields with many Arab and international
universities, scientific establishments and centers.
This cooperation also includes many Syrian governmental and
non-governmental organizations and private universities.
The University is still establishing good relations with Arab and
foreign universities in spite of the current situation in Syria.
This cooperation includes all the fields such as Medicine,
Engineering biology and renewable energies.
It also includes academic exchange for Professors and students
of different undergraduate years.
In the framework of this cooperation, the university annually holds
different important conferences and symposia.

established The center in 2010 and the
university allocated it with 2 equipped

framework of Tempus Project which will
turn to a national project in the end of
