plants are at the fullest, and we
have pumpkins everywhere! It is
just a ton of fun. In Memphis, we’ll

Day 1, Friday: Central IllinoisSikeston-Little Rock

Gardener welcomes us aboard this
morning as we head south into
P. Allen Smith’s
Garden Home
Missouri. We stop for lunch at the
home of “throwed rolls” Lambert’s
Cafe in Sikeston. Yes, they throw
hot rolls to you and what you catch
you can eat... along with down home
country cooking. We continue on to
Arkansas and arrive in Little Rock.

Day 2, Saturday: Little RockMarlsgate-Garden HomeMemphis
This morning we head a little
southeast of town to the Marlsgate
Plantation still owned as a private
Then we proceed to P. Allen
Smith’s Garden Home. Allen is almost
certainly going to greet us (and sign his
books for you, if you like). We’ll have
a guided tour of his home and gardens,
which are featured on his PBS series.
Then we’ll enjoy a luncheon prepared
from produce from his own farm.

right on Beale Street! You can join us
for jazz and barbeque or do your own

back north to Central Illinois. Amidst
fall colors (we hope!), we include lunch
at the Giant City State Park Lodge and
a ranger shows us around the remarkable geology of massive sandstone
