Owen Korte † Blessing of Pets: This coming Tuesday is the Feast of St. Francis. I am going to host a short blessing of Pets on Sunday, Oct. 2 at noon in front of Holy Trinity Church. Bring all your fury and scaly creatures for a blessing. In a farm community this might seem a bit out of place but so many of us have or have had pets and we know how important they are. Next spring I plan on going out to the farms in our parish to offer a blessing of fields and livestock but for this Day in honor of the Church’s lover of Animals, St. Francis, it would be good to bless our pets. † Religious Education Classes meet this coming Wednesday beginning at 6:30 pm. The topic is the Blessed Virgin Mary. † Liturgy and Spirituality Committee will meet this coming Thursday at 7:00 pm at the Parish Rectory Meeting Room. † First Friday: We have First Friday this coming Friday, Oct. 7. We will have Mass at 8:05 am with all the students from Holy Trinity and Cedar. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place all day beginning at the end of mass and concluding with a service at 3:00 pm. All are welcome to come to church for prayer during the day and join all the students for the closing service and Benediction. † Confirmation: Archbishop Lucas will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation at 5:00 pm on Saturday, Oct. 8th. Note the time is a half hour earlier than usual. Please pray for our young people, members of the 9th and 10th grade classes from Holy Trinity, who have prepared themselves and have been prepared by the Lord. May they open their hearts to receive this outpouring of the Holy Spirit completing their full Initiation into the Church. Confirmation practice is Wednesday night, Oct. 5, beginning at 7:00 pm in the church. Also, everyone is invited to pray with the Confirmation students as they hold an all night vigil on the night before their Confirmation, Friday, Oct 7th, at 6:00 p.m. until Saturday, Oct. 8th at noon. Come to pray for a half hour or an hour with the students through the night. † Archbishop’s Annual Appeal: As of 9/27 we have pledged and/or given $8,010.00 which is 22.9% of the goal of $34,925.30 and this coming from 40 donors. Please use the pledge form that was mailed to you to make your donation. Please mail it in and do not put it in the collection basket. Page 3 Points from the Parish & Community... REL. ED.
