WINTER RETREAT
FEBRUARY 13-15,
2015
A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR BEN
A huge part of the MY in MYNKMB has been walking with our students as they build ownership of
their spiritual lives as preteens and young teenagers. Youth retreats have always been some of my
favourite times of connecting with students as we walk together in this journey.
We will be going to Gimli Bible Camp from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon. There are a
variety of activities for the students, both outdoors and indoors, along with an appropriate
amount of free time. We will have scheduled sessions where we get into the Bible and worship
together. Our adult small group leaders stay in the cabins with the students in their small groups
offering guidance throughout the entire weekend. Our goal for this retreat as for all events is to
create moments that help students in grades 6-8 grow in their knowledge of Christ while also
building fun memories that we hope will last a lifetime. Be ready to hear some great stories when

PACKING LIST
- Sleeping bag and pillow
- Toiletries (soap, toothpaste, deodorant)
- Towel
- Bible if you have one
- Outdoor clothing (Come ready for the weather)
- Skates (optional) Please have them wrapped for
safety
- Appropriate winter footwear
- Required medication (Please note on registration
form. All medications (including over the counter drugs
and with the exception of inhalers & epi-pens will be held
by leaders)
- Any electronic devices brought are at student’s
own risk and may be held by leaders if they become
a distraction to activities
COST
$70/student payable upon registration
Family rates: 2 students- $110, 3+ students- $150
Please make cheques payable to North Kildonan Mennonite
Brethren Church. If retreat cost is a difficulty for your family
please contact Pastor Ben directly. Students will not be
turned away for financial reasons.

Transportation Method: Commercial Bus
Activities may include: Bonfire, Running Games in
woods, Ice Skating, Broom Hockey, Gym Games
Departure Time: February 13th, 2015 at 6:00pm
Return Time: February 15th, 2015 at 3:00pm
All physical activities have risks. I agree to allow my
child to participate in this event knowing there are
physical risks and hazards inherent in any activity.
I voluntarily agree to allow my child to participate
in this event. By voluntarily allowing participation, I
agree that I am exposing my child to inherent risks
and hazards. I agree to accept all risks and hazards
and be responsible for any injury or other loss
which may occur during the participation of my
child.
Photographs of participating students may be used
in church ministry publications and/or for
promotional use by the ministry. Email addresses
will be added to our NKMB Youth Newsletter
mailing list.
I sign this form with the assurance that the utmost
care will be taken to provide my child safety to the
best of our ability. I acknowledge the competence
of the NKMB youth leaders and consent to their
leadership decisions during this trip, including
medical attention if necessary. I understand that if
my child/ward causes damage to the camp or
becomes a disciplinary issue with the group, they
will be sent home at my cost.
