VISION: The Barkly is a strong and vibrant Shire that values and respects its cultural diversity 2013 Dog Program Report The Utopia Team. The first half of 2013 has been extremely productive and busy for our AMRRIC Workers, volunteers and support team. I would like to personally thank all those concerned for their continued support and guidance. The Barkly Shires collaboration with all stakeholders has once again proven to be exceptional and result driven. This clearly demonstrates the effectiveness with community support how the AMRRIC and Barkly Shire visions work towards the overall wellbeing and health for community members. 1|Page VISION: The Barkly is a strong and vibrant Shire that values and respects its cultural diversity Graeme Narrier – CDEP Participant from Ali Currung Our schedule has included return visits to the following communities: Ali Currung: 25th – 28th February, 2013 Murray Downs: 4th – 6th March, 2013 Wutunugurra : 25th – 27th March, 2013 Elliott: 2nd – 4th April, 2013 Arlparra: 14th – 20th April, 2013 Ampilatwatja: 29th – 30th April and 1st – 2nd May, 2013 2|Page VISION: The Barkly is a strong and vibrant Shire that values and respects its cultural diversity Jan Allen – AMRRIC with James Bonney CDEP Participant from Ampilatwatja Our year to date thus far includes the following statistical evidence: 153 Speys 141 Castrates 30 Pregnant 62 Euthanasia 3|Page VISION: The Barkly is a strong and vibrant Shire that values and respects its cultural diversity Ampilatwatja Ampilatwatja Cat Speys Arlparra Treated Euthanased Wutunugurra Pregnant Castrations Elliott Speys Murray Downs Ali Curung 0 20 Spey’s 40 60 Castrations 80 Pregnant 100 120 Euthanized Ali Curung 24 6 4 2 Murray Downs 12 9 5 3 Elliott 2 140 Treated Cat Spey’s 130 Wutunugurra 17 7 Arlparra 50 80 12 1 2 Ampilatwatja 50 40 9 52 1 4|Page 4 Continued Program Schedule - 2013 Darwin: 6th – 11th May, 2013 – Wild Dog Training (Brian Radovic and Graeme Narrier) Lake Nash: 20th – 25th May, 2013 – De Sexing Wutunugurra: 27th – 30th May, 2013 – De Sexing Lake Nash: 17th – 20th June, 2013 – De Sexing Ali Currung: 15th – 19th July, 2013 – De Sexing Elliott: 22nd – 25th July, 2013 – De Sexing Ampilatwatja: 26th – 30th August, 2013 – De Sexing Tennant Creek – TBA Canteen Creek – TBA Tara – TBA AMMRIC Conference: 14th – 18th October, 2013 NATSIEH Conference: 11th – 15th November, 2013 5|Page VISION: The Barkly is a strong and vibrant Shire that values and respects its cultural diversity Graeme Narrier distributing bread for the delivery of Iverrmec which treats dogs for external parasites Special thanks and recognition to the following Workers, Volunteers and Stakeholders:CDEP Workers: Graeme Narrier, James Bonney, Owen Miller and Ashley Hayes BSC Vet: Malcolm Mcgrath.
