The mission of The First Baptist Church of Moorestown is to be an open, joyful, and seeking community of faith whose people
experience the transforming grace and power of Jesus Christ. As we worship, study God’s Word, and reflect on the world around
us, we trust God to lead us into wholeness in all relationships and into ministries of justice and compassion.
CHURCH LIFE – Activities Within the Church
ACTIVITIES
American Baptist Women’s Ministries – Starting in September, the third Thursday of each
month at 10:30 am in the Meeting Room
Book Group – Starting in September, the last Sunday of each month at 11:30 am in Room 5
Breezeway Chat – Wednesday nights at 7:15
Choir – Not meeting during summer
Contemplative Prayer – Every Wednesday at 6:15 pm in Room 6
Issues & Actions – Starting in September, the third Monday of each month, with some
exceptions, at 7 pm in the Meeting Room
Movie Night – The third Thursday of every month. Pot-luck at 6 pm and movie at 7 pm
Shawl Ministry – Starting in September, the last Monday of each month at 6:30 in the Lounge
Step Sunday – The fourth Sunday of each month except December when it will be on Dec. 21

Diaconate Board – First Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm
Executive Board – Second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm
Board of Outreach and Relationships – To be determined

Please consider purchasing flowers for our Sunday service to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, a
loved one's memory or just because. The cost of flowers is now $40.00. That would make it easy for 2
people or families to share the expense. When you purchase flowers you are free to take them at the end
of the service. There are quite a few open Sundays. The sign up book is in the lounge.

Dear First Baptist Moorestown Community,
Please accept our heartfelt thanks for the lovely farewell luncheon for us on July 27th. As we
prepare to move we will always remember your support, caring actions, kind words, best wishes
and, most recently, the gift of a picture of Lola Webster's beautiful stained glass window. FBC
has been our church home for 35 years; we will miss your day to day support and caring as we
begin a new stage of our lives. We plan to visit so you will see us again! And likewise, we
hope you will come visit us in beautiful Lancaster County.
And finally, "May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the
sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand." (traditional gaelic blessing)

FOOD PANTRY
Please remember those who depend on our Food Pantry.
All those who come really do appreciate everything we offer but items which we run out of quickly
include meats, cereals, fruit products and toiletries. We have plenty of beans.
FOOD FOR ALL collection and distribution for the 2013-2014 School Year has ended.
Please keep this in mind when donating.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Recovery Worship Services – The First Baptist Church of Moorestown will be holding a series
of worship services based on the 12 Steps of Addiction Recovery. Each month, on the fourth
Sunday (except for December when the service will be on Dec. 21), our worship service will be
centered around one of the 12 Steps of addiction recovery. On July 27, we will focus on Step 7
“Humbly ask God to remove our shortcomings”. Childcare will be provided.
The Book Group – We will start meeting again in September. If you need something to read
this summer, here is our book list which we will be discussing. Please join us if you are
interested.
The book for September is “Fall of Giants” by Ken Follett. Following books will include
“Plain Song” by Kent Harus, “Apple Tree Yard” by Louise Doughty, “The Boy Who Said No”
by Patty Sheehy, “Hitler’s Furies” by Wendy Lower and “Keep Quiet” by Lisa Scottoline.
