Design Excellence Award (DEmark) was established in 2008 in order to give recognition to outstanding product design. It is in conjunction with
the Prime Minister's Export Award (PM Award) which is presented annually by the Prime Minister under the auspices of Thailand Institute of Design
and Inovation Promotion, Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Royal Thai Government. The selected product
receive the DEmark logo for outstanding design, which can be used to promote well-designed Thai products in the international market.
It is hoped that this award will help promote development of domestic products, which will in turn better the quality of life of both domestic
and international consumers. The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) receives cooperation from The Japan External Trade
Organization (JETRO) and the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP) in determining the judging criteria for DEmark Award of Thailand, inviting
experts to be judges in this contest and also help promote the DEmark Award to be widely accepted in the international arena.

Dots design studio is a full product design service, and
combines the knowledge from marketing perspective and
design perspective. We are a team of designers, who can
have a broader view in any projects. Our design approach is
mainly focused on experimental process of various material
such as metal, wood, etc. We are enthusiastic in pushing them
beyond their limitations both conceptually and functionally in
order to achieve our aspiration of creating new design
dialect. The idea behind this project is how to make a new
experiment by changing users emotions. The user's emotions
would be relative the material (compression plywood) to
create a product. From research there is a connection
between product choice and user With these elements are a
lot of effects on user decisions. The core idea material,
“bending veneer ” was developed and proven for out door
use. Not just function but beauty, with a combination of oak,
teak and walnut. There is balance between art and function,
PLYBIKE is a vintage style bike, classy and very unique
conceptual design for very day use. It is a custom bike that is
made with handcrafted techniques. Our propose is to be a
very limited product, and we plan produce just 500 of
them.There are 2 Types available on the market. The top
specification is with “Stumey Archer” 2speed kick shift hubs,
the standard models is with single speed hub.
