Ito po ang nagsisilbing pangunahing Batayan ng pagbalangkas ng mga pangunahing Programa at mga proyektotonghigit na makakatugon at makakapagbigay ng mga kaunlaran sa ating mga mamamayan lalot higit sa ating Barangay. Layunin din nito ipaabot sa mga Tanggapan ng ating Pamahalaang Pambayan Panglalawigan, pang National at mga Samahang Pribado. Ang patuloy na pakikipag ugnayan sa kanila upang sila ay makapagbigay ng mga tulong na ating lubos na kinakailangan sa kasalukuyang panahon. Ngunit ang lahat ng ito ay matatagumpay kung tayong Mamamayan ng ating Barangay ay lubos na makakaisa sa ating mga layunin at sa tulong ng ating Panginoon na tayo’y gabayan niya sa lahat ng sandali at magpasalamat sa mga Biyayang sa atin ay kanyang ipinagkaloob sa ano pamang Kapamaraan. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na makikinabang. Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. Ang Socio-economic Profile ang testimonya na patuloy ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan. Sama-samang magsimula, Walang Maiiwan sa pag-unlad ng ATIMONAN! JOEL M. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY TINANDOG Noong unang panahon tulad ng ibang Barangay ang Tinandog ay walang pangalan, subalit dahilan sa mga di-karaniwang pangyayari at sa pagsasalin-salin ng mga kuwento at kaganapan, ito ay nagkaroon din ng pangalan. May ilang daang taon na ang nakakalipas, may isang mag-asawang ang bahay ay natatyo sa tabing daan o kalsada. Dahil noon ay panahon ng pagdating ng mga Kastila kung kaya naatasan ang ilang guwardiya sibil upang magtala ng mga pangalan ng lugar at ng iba’t ibang barangay. Kaya kasama ang kanilang pinuno ay napadaan sila sa tapat ng bahay ng mag-asawang noon ay nagluluto ng kanilang pananghalian. Itinanong ng mga guardiya sibil sa mag-asawa kung ano ang pangalan ng barangay na ito sa wikang Kastila. Dahilan sa hindi nila nalalaman kung ano ang itinatanong ng mga guardya sibil ay inakala ng mag-asawang na ibig sabihin nilang malaman kung ano ang kanilang nilulutong ulam. Dahil sa ang magasawa ng oras na iyon ay nagluluto ng tinuhog na karne, na noon ang tawag ay tinindag, kaya ang sagot nila ay TININDAG. Dahilan sa hindi masyadong naunawaan ng mga Kastila ang kanilang itinala kung kaya ang sagot ng mag-asawa ang naging pangalan ng Barangay. Sa paglipas ng panahon at sa pagpapasalin-salin ng mga kuwento ng mga sumunod na henerasyon ang pangalang TININDAG ay naging TINANDOG. 2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS 2.1 Location Brgy. Tinandog is one of the inner barangays of Atimonan, located about 4.5kilometers away from the town’s poblacion. It is traversed by the Maharlika High way bounded on the north by Barangay San Isidro and Barangay Sapaan, on the south by Barangay San Isidro and Barangay Sapaan, on the west by Barangay Malinao Ibaba and Sapaan and on the east by Brgy. Sokol and Rizal. It has a total land area of 267.2962 hectares per record of Municipal Assessor’s Office composed of six sitios- Purok 1- Aktibo, Purok 2- Masikap, Purok 3- Masayahin, Purok 4- Matapatin, Purok 5- Pagkakaisa, and Purok 6 Tanglaw, Pag-asa. Topography of the barangay is mostly plain to hilly. Almost 98% of land is agricultural. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR 3.1 DEMOGRAPHY RHU Survey of Population 2014, showed that Brgy. Tinandog had a population of 1,463. There are more male than female, with age distribution revealing 67.99% of the total population belong to ages 10-59 years old; 19.85% under 1 year old to 9 years old and 12.14% belonging to 60 years old and above. This shows that Brgy. Tinandog has almost equal in number for working population and dependent population. School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is computed at 38% of the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic. 3.1.1. It has 40 hectares for irrigation system that contributed to the production of farm products. Some of the populace are leaned to poultry production for additional source of income.
