Bilang ganti, sa muling pagtitiwala ninyo sa akin ay sisikapin kong mahigitan pa ang mga nagawa kong pagpapaunlad sa ating barangay noong aking unang termino. Sa pagkakataong ito sa tulong-tulong na paggawa at pagsasamahan namin ng aking mga kasangguni ay muli kong gagampanan ng maayos sa abot ng aking makakaya ang mga tungkuling nakaatang sa akin. maiangat pa ang antas at kalidad ng ating pamumuhay, lalo pang mapaganda ay mapaunlad an gating barangay, magkaroon ng pagkakaisa, pagkakaunawaan, pagmamahalan at paniniwala sa Diyos ang bawat isa. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na makikinabang. Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. VERGAÑO Punumbayan KATANGIAN AT INTERPRETASYON SA OPISYAL NA LOGO NG BARANGAY Ang opisyal na sagisag (logo) ay binubuo ng dalawang hugis bilog, isa(1) sa loob at isa sa labas. Ang espasyo sa gitna ng dalawang (2) hugis bilog ay nakasulat ang mga sumusunod: BARANGAY KILAIT – pangalan ng barangay at nakalagay sa itaas na bahagi ng bilog. ATIMONAN, QUEZON – pangalan ng bayan at probinsyang nakaksakop sa barangay sa ibabang bahagi ng hugis bilog. Ang gitnang bahagi ng nasa loob ng bilog ang mga sumasagisag sa pagkakakilanlan ng barangay ay ang mga sumusunod: KULAY LUNTIAN sumisimbolo sa taglay na likas na yaman ng kabundukang nakapalibot dito at maging kapatagan o bukirin. KULAY PUTI sumisimbolo sa kalinisan at maaliwalas na pamumuhay ng mga mamamayang dito’y naninirahan KULAY DILAW sumisimbolo sa liwanag ng araw at katatagan ng lakas at enerhiya ng mga ibon, hayop at tao at iba pang may buhay at dahilan kung bakit kulay luntian ang mga daho, bundok at mga sakahan. KULAY BUGHAW sumisimbolo sa maaliwalas na pamumuhay ng mga mamamayang dito’y naninirahan BUNDOK sumisimbolo sa anyong lupang sagana sa likas na yaman at pangunahing pinagkukunan ng ikabubuhay ng mga mamamayan sa barangay IBON SA HIMPAPAWID simbolo ng kalayaan sa lugar na animo’y isang paraiso BUKID ang luntiang bukirin ay sumisimbolo sa masaganang ani bilang patunay na ang mga magsasakang dito’y naninirahan ay punuhan ang sipag at tiyaga sa pagbabanat ng buto sa pagtatanim ng palay, gulay at prutas. Simbolo ng malayang pamumuhay, pangarap at katagumpayan Ang pagkilala ay ibinibigay sa mga nag-ambag para sa pagsasa-ayosng opisyal na sagisag (logo) ng barangay at ito ay ang mga sumusunod: KGG. TIERRA (+) (Dating Punong Barangay 2002-2007) nagpatibay ng pagkakaroon ng opisyal na sagisag (logo) ang barangay, na nakuha buhat sa Tanggapanng Municipal Planning Development Council (MPDC) sa pamamagitan ni Bb. May M. Sornito. G. MARITO E. LASPIÑAS (+) (Residente ng Barangay) sa pagdedesinyo at pagguhit ng sagisag (logo) sa na hayag na lugar. KGG. ROSALINO E. ESPINOSA nagpatibay sa pagpapatupad ng pagkakaroon ng opisyal na sagisag. SANGGUNIANG BARANGAY (2013-2016) sa pagbibigay ng kahulugan sa sagisag (logo) GNG. ELIZABETH P. LASPIÑAS (Kalihim ng Barangay) para sa huling pagsasa-ayos ng sagisag (logo). VISION Maunlad, mapayapang barangay at mga mamamayang namumuhay ng sagana at may pagmamahal sa Diyos, sumusunod sa mga batas at tuntuning pinaiiral ng pamahalaan tungo sa kapayapaan at kaunlaran ng pamayanan. MISSION Sumunod sa mga programa at proyektong pangkabuhayan ng pamahalaan upang maiangat ang antas at kalidad ng pamumuhay sa barangay. Paglilingkod ng tapat at pantay-pantay sa lahat. 1. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY KILAIT Ayon sa pagsasaliksik, ang Barangay Kilait sa simula pa nang dumating ang mga kastila sa ating bansa at bigyan ito nang pangalang Pilipinas at simula pa rin noong mabigyan ng pangalan bayan ng Atimonan ay kasabay na ring nagkaroon ng pangalan. Dito sa pook na ito ayon sa mga matatanda ay mayroong isang mag-asawang may mabuting kalooban mabait at mahusay sa pakikisama sa mga kababaryo at sinumang dumating o mga dayo sa lugar na ito. Subalit sa kabila nito, ang mag-asawang ito ay patuloy pa ring naging tampulan ng panlalait ng kanilang kapwa. Lalo’t higit ang lalaki na ang pangalan ay Exequiel o Quiel, na marahil ay hindi na rin sa kanyang panlabas na kaanyuan. Minsan ay may isang dayo na nagtanong ng pangalan ng lugar. Sa pag-aakala ng taga-nayon na ang hinahanap ay lugar na maaring matirhang pansamantala sinabi niyang, doon kina Quiel lait, ang taguring tumutukoy sa asawang lalaki na laging nilalait. Magmula noon ang lugar na ito ay tinawag ng Quiel Lait at di-nagtagal ay naging KILAIT. 2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS Barangay Kilait is one of the inner Baranagay of Atimonan, located at about 7 kilometers away from the town’s poblacion. It is 3 kilometers away from the Maharlika Highway, bounded on the north by Balubad, on the South by Barangay Lubi, on the East by Barangay San Jose Balatok and on the west by Barangay Angeles. It has a total land area of 542.9342 hectares hectares per record of the Municipal Assessors Office composed of three Sitios; Sitio Ipit, Sitio Central and Sitio Kamulungan. Topography of the barangay is mostly Mountainous to hilly and plain on the other side. Almost 51 % of the land is Agricultural. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR RHU Survey of population 2014, showed that Barangay Kilait had a population of 569 and with a computed population growth rate of 1.34%.There are more male than female, with age distribution revealing 64.50% of the total population belongs to ages 10-59 years old; 20.39% under 1 year old to 9 years old and 15.11% belonging to 60 years old and above. This shows that Barangay Kilait working population is less than dependent population. School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is computed at 44.15% of the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic and Bible Baptist. 3.1 DEMOGRAPHY 3.1.1. GENERAL ECONOMIC PROFILE 51% or 168.3009 hectares area of the barangay is devoted to agriculture. Major crops are rice, copra, mango and vegetables. 59 hectares of the total agriculture area is irrigated and the other 324 hectares is rain fed. Some of the populace are leaned to poultry production for additional source of income. School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is computed at 44.15% of the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic and Iglesia ni Cristo.
