Ref: ZRA/BSAR/09/02015 The Zambezi River Authority (ZRA) has set aside funds to finance various operations during the 2015 financial year and intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for the works contract for the maintenance of the 14.35km South Bank gravel access road for the proposed Batoka Hydroelectric Scheme (BGHES) and gravel airstrip ZRA is a corporate body jointly and equally owned by the Governments of Zambia and Zimbabwe. In addition to the operation and maintenance of Kariba Dam complex, ZRA is mandated to investigate, develop, monitor and maintain new dam sites on the stretch of the Zambezi River from Kazungula to Kanyemba forming a common border between the two contracting states. ZRA now invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders in Zimbabwe for the maintenance of the 14.5km South Bank gravel access road for the proposed Batoka Hydroelectric Scheme (BGHES) and gravel airstrip. The scope of work will include among other things: Maintenance of the 14.5km access gravel road from the Victoria Falls Deka Mouth Road to the Batoka Gorge Dam Site including the maintenance of the gravel airstrip. The maintenance works include provision of additional storm water drainage structures. .This tender is open to contractors of road works registered in Zimbabwe. Contractor’s current and past performance will be assessed prior to award of contract through a strict due diligence exercise conducted on the two (2) most recent projects completed.
