“Chickasha Picture Issue” Volume 2 Issue 2B Published by Lee Thevenet March 2010 Horseless Carriage Replica Newsletter A Publication dedicated to the reporting of news, events, articles, photos, items for sale, etc, having to do with replica horseless carriages. Newsletter published six times a year and special issues when needed. From the Editor To all the interested builders who could not make it to the Chickasha Pre-War Swap Meet because of distance or other reasons, I dedicate this “ Special Issue”containing all the pictures Dave Hughes & I took of the line-up of vendors, various areas containing parts, some interesting vendors booths, special interest vehicles & some complete cars that were for sale. Elaine & I (background) arriving at the Pre-War Swap Meet on Wednesday … 1 The line-up of vendors waiting to set-up when the gates open … 2 Soon the selling began, vendors to vendors or anyone there that wanted to buy early & the weather was cool & breezy but otherwise perfect … At 4 pm sharp, the gates opened & the vendors rolled into the compound to start setting up their booths… 3 Here is yours truly taking pictures for this issue, while himself being photographed by none other than HCR member Dave Hughes… Here Dave catches me again helping set up the display tent for the Early Ford Registry booth. It was a little touchy at times with the wind gusts, but we got it up. Yep, that’ s me again, coat hood up, trying to get an early bargain … 4 The following pictures of the meet were taken at random during our two day stay in Chickasha … I figured some of you guys would like to see this cutie … 5 Here we have a Benz replica 6 New, by the Rootlieb Company, is their all steel reproduction “ T”body … Owner Tom Rootlieb wearing a blue shirt … 7 8 Well, it was my turn to catch Dave off-guard … 9 Check out this neat hand formed speedster body … The specialty goodies were abundant … 10 Oops! There’ s Dave again … Well, we have brought you some of the interesting sights at the 2010 Pre War Swap Meet that took place in Chickasha, OK … Hope you found it interesting & can make it next year… Lee Thevenet & Dave Hughes 11
