OUR LADY OF HOPE YÜÉÅ à{x ctáàÉÜË á Wxá~ Dear Friends: T his weekend the 8th Grade students from our school and our Religious Education Program are making their Confirmation. Confirmation is a big step as we believe that by this Sacrament they are adults in the Church. As adults, they assume the responsibilities of living the Gospel as Jesus taught us. As part of the Confirmation ceremony, the young people are asked to renew their Baptismal Promises. At their Baptism, their parents and sponsors did this for them. Now, they make the promises to live the faith, avoid sin and use the gifts of the Holy Spirit to guide them each day of their lives. The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Right Judgment, Piety and Wonder and Awe. These are truly great gifts to receive at Confirmation. Please pray for our young people. Yours in Christ, Very Rev. Michael A. Carrano PRIESTS’ MASS SCHEDULE SATURDAY, APRIL 30 5:00 P.M. Father Carrano 7:30 P.M. The “Bring Mary Home” event in May here at Our Lady of Hope encourages families or households to pray regularly for vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, consecrated life, married life, single life and for the family. Each week a family will receive a Statue of Our Blessed mother at the 9:30 Mass and take it home with a promise to “pray for vocation and family needs” during that week. During the week the family and friends are asked to pray the rosary. Along with the statue, rosaries and resources will be given with a different prayer for each day. At the end of the week the family returns the statue to the parish right before the 9:30 Mass, so the next family can take it home.
