Transit Operators Make the Wheels on the Bus Go Round
JOANNE SCHULTZ
Awarded Transit Operator of the Month for
the month of May.
Congratulations to Joanne
Schultz for being awarded
May Transit Operator of the
Month. Joanne joined the
Smith County Upper Cumberland Human Resource
Agency family on September
19, 2004, where she currently
works as a Transit Operator.
“I love to drive of course;
however, meeting and interacting with my passengers is
a plus,” Joanne said.
Before coming to UCHRA,
Joanne worked as a cashier in
a convenience store. When
she is not at work, she enjoys
surfing the net, reading, and
watching movies.
“With most of my passengers having health issues, I
am thankful every day that I
have my health,” Joanne said.
Sandy Carter Named May Employee of the Month
SANDY CARTER
Awarded UCHRA Employee of the Month
for the month of May.
Congratulations to Sandy
Carter for being awarded May
Employee of the Month. Sandy has been an employee of
the UCHRA since October of
1996. She worked in the MIS
Department for two years before beginning work in the
Community Services Department in 1998. She currently
works as the CSBG/LIHEAP
Manager in the Community
Services Department, where
she manages the LIHEAP and
CSBG programs.
“I oversee the compliance
by the 14-county offices with
the agencies state obligations,
Sandy said. I am responsible
for all state reports and preparation of contracts for both
programs, and whatever else is
needed by my director as I am
his self appointed administrative assistant.”
Before Sandy was an employee of UCHRA she worked at a
printing company doing layout
for all types of orders.
During her sixteen years with
UCHRA, she has approached
several challenges.
“I think the biggest professional challenge I face is trying
to accommodate the different people I deal with daily,
Sandy said. It can be very hard
to make everyone happy with
day-to-day decisions need.”
In her time away from the
office she enjoys spending time
with her two granddaughters,
her mom & dad and her fantastic husband. She loves play-
