Mark Poulter, Principal Upper School Celebration

“What a fantastic evening…” was echoed around
The Harefield Academy following the wonderful
Upper School Celebration Evening

to celebrate our students’ achievements, staff
and students alike were inspired by the success
that was celebrated. Guest of Honour and
Olympian, Dave Long, said that as an Olympian
it was so refreshing to see the ethos of
excellence, hard work and sheer enjoyment
being celebrated at The Harefield Academy. “The
cohesive teamwork of students, teachers,
administrators, parents and backers was plain to
see and deserves to be applauded." The Watford

To be an Olympian requires outstanding qualities
and characteristics such as sporting technique
and skill, commitment, focus and determination

inspiring future generations. Therefore the
recipient of the Olympic award has to show
these qualities alongside the potential to
compete in such a blue ribbon event as the

This pathway is not easy and has its fair share of
disappointments as well as accolades. Finding a

campaigner and has written numerous books on
his experiences in American prisons. His writing
has subsequently put the international media

We would like to get back in touch with as
many former students of THA as possible; we are
working alongside a company called Future First
to build THA’s first ever Alumni network of
former students. Future First has been designed
to keep you and your former school in touch,
with the aim of providing opportunities to
current students. This could include anything
from careers insight and mentoring to work
experience. Once you’ve signed up, your
school/college will be in touch to offer you
opportunities that you may be interested in. As
well as keeping you up to date with news from
your old school, the network can offer you lots
of ways to support the young people sat in your
