April 13, 2016 Dear Parents of Seniors: As we approach the final months of high school for our seniors, it is important that we take the time to insure we do all we can to make this a safe and memorable experience for everyone. Here is a review of the activities on the calendar. Senior Honors Assembly Wednesday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Jeuck Auditorium Families are encouraged to join us as we celebrate our seniors’ accomplishments. Dress pants and shoes, please. No jeans. If your son or daughter has received a scholarship at a college or university, please submit a written copy to Mrs. Yellin in the Counseling office by April 22 in order for it to be acknowledged at the award ceremony. The final date to submit scholarship information for the graduation booklet is May 1. We want to acknowledge all scholarship offers by listing them in the graduation program. AP Exams May 2 – 6, 9 – 13 Senior Celebration Friday, May 13 at Saint Viator High School from 5:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Cost is $35 – includes the senior video. This party at the school is designed for all the seniors to celebrate with their classmates. Students are required to stay from the beginning to the end of the party. Senior Exams Tuesday, May 17 Period 6: 12:05 – 1:00 Period 7: 1:05 – 2:00 Period 8: 2:05 – 3:00 Graduation Practice Wednesday, May 18 Period 3: 9:50 – 10:45 Period 4: 10:50 – 11:45 Period 5: 11:50 – 12:45 Thursday, May 19 Period 1: 8:00 – 8:55 Period 2: 9:00 – 9:55 Thursday, May 19 in the Cahill Gymnasium at 10:00 a.m. after the last exam. Seniors will receive four graduation tickets and their health records. The length of the practice depends upon how quickly we can accomplish what needs to be done. Baccalaureate Thursday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Saint Viator High School in the Cahill Mass Gymnasium. Families are invited. Students are to be at school by 6:00 p.m. and will dress in their graduation gowns but no caps. Appropriate attire under the gown is recommended, i.e. no tennis shoes, shorts, or t-shirts etc.; dress shirt and tie for the male students. Page two Senior Prom Friday, May 20 – No School for Seniors Stonegate Conference & Banquet Center, 2401 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates Doors open 6:30 p.m. Dinner/Dance 7:00 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Post Prom 11:45 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Post Prom Activities at Pinstripes in South Barrington are planned. Buses will depart from Stonegate following the prom. Activities at Pinstripes will be from 11:45 until 3:00 a.m. and buses will return to Stonegate by approximately 3:30 a.m. Graduation Sunday, May 22 at 10:00 a.m. in the Saint Viator High School Cahill Gymnasium. Students report with graduation gowns by 9:00 a.m. to the cafeteria. Admission is by ticket only. Each senior will receive four tickets. Extra seating for viewing the ceremony on closed-circuit television will be available in the auditorium. Please note: If a family has special seating needs, i.e. handicapped or wheelchair access, please call Mrs. Cathy Abrahamian at (847) 392-4050 ext. 216 as soon as possible. Graduation Reception A reception will be held immediately following graduation for all family members and friends. The reception is provided by the Parents' Club. All seniors are encouraged to participate in the graduation activities. However, if a diploma is to be granted, the following conditions must be met prior to May 9, 2016 1. 2. 3. All academic requirements must be met. All tuition and fees must be paid in full. Athletic uniforms and equipment must be returned to the appropriate departments.
