2015 - 2016 Living Together in Diversity This year a special prize of $ 10,000 will be awarded to one of the eligible schools. This amount will be used to complete the winning school project. TAKE PART in the most important educational project being organized in our schools; SHARE exciting events with your students during the whole year; Through your registration and participation in the La Dictée P.G.L. project, your students and you will be eligible to take part in the following exclusive contests and draws: PROMOTE French as a language of communication. 25 years – I would never have imagined such a success: we really must celebrate it together! We wanted this project to provide young people with a unique opportunity to learn more about the world around them and, particularly, about living conditions in the poorer countries. Our hope was that this would develop their spirit of cooperation and solidarity, while at the same time promoting and increasing their fluency in the beautiful French language. Thanks to you, we have raised the awareness of millions of young people and with your help, we will continue with our mission through this important project that is so close to my heart. If you register all of your school’s classes to participate in the La Dictée P.G.L. project, you are eligible for the Grand Concours Desjardins. The 25th Edition of La Dictée P.G.L. is organized under the patronage of UNESCO What is the Cueillette du partage project? By participating in the raise funds to share dictation, the student takes on the mission to recruit sponsors for his or her dictation. This stimulating challenge allows participants to raise funds which will be shared as follows: What is La Dictée P.G.L.? La Dictée P.G.L. is a unique and exciting educational project. • 50% of the amount raised can be retained by the participating school for its own projects. • 50% are sent to the Fondation to support its education programs in Africa and Haiti. It is also a fun competition taking place at your school, as well as an international spelling contest. Main steps 1) Classroom activities: • Explore the theme and carry out the activities featured in the magazine. • Participate in the Raise Funds to Share dictation. Primary Level 3) The Regional Finales: • Students representing their schools participate in their region’s Regional Finale dictation. • The winning student from each region will then participate in the Grand International Finale. 4) The Grand International Finale: 2) School Finale: • Students participate in a competition featuring a distinct dictation for each grade. • Following a joint dictation for 5th and 6th grade students, the winner will compete in the Regional Finale. • The winning 1st and 2nd year secondary school students (7th and 8th grades) will then participate the Grand National Finale. • The students representing each region participate in the Grand International Finale. • This televised event brings together students from Quebec, Canada, the United States and Africa. • The top winners receive scholarships. By registering and participating in the La Dictée P.G.L. project You will receive: • A magazine offering stimulating activities that are in line with your teaching practices. • A teacher’s guide including the dictations and information needed to implement the project. You will have access online to: • Interactive activities featured in Mon magazine. • Financial education activities. • Audio dictations. Learn more at: fondationpgl.ca/espace-activites Secondary Level 3) The Grand National Finale: • Students representing each school participate in the Grand National Finale dictation. • It will take place online, at each finalist’s school. • The top winners receive scholarships. The following students are eligible to participate in the project: • all kindergarten and primary level students; • all first and second year secondary level students; • all students in French first language and French second language classes. Register now for the 2015-2016 La Dictée P.G.L. project at: fondationpgl.ca/portail NEW FEATURES Improv Games In collaboration with the Ligue nationale d’improvisation (LNI), La Dictée P.G.L. is organizing National Improv Games in Quebec schools during the 2015-2016 school year. Sponsorship Program To help raise young people’s awareness of the realities of life for children in Africa and Haiti, La Dictée P.G.L. is offering a School to School Sponsorship program to participating schools. This programme aims to establish a relationship based on solidarity and exchange between schools in this country and those in the South. Details on these new features will be forwarded to schools during the fall of 2015.
