References
Applicants to the Emerging Athletes Program are required to ensure that three EAP recommendations are
completed online by the three references provided by the applicant. It is the applicant's responsibility to
contact all references to complete the online EAP recommendations.
• One of the recommendations must be from a current trainer, or a trainer who has knowledge of the
rider's abilities, describing in detail the applicant's experience and capabilities.
• The remaining two recommendations must be from adults within the hunter/jumper industry (i.e.
trainers, veterinarians, farriers, et cetera), who have working knowledge of the applicant's riding and
horsemanship abilities, one of which may be from a USHJA Approved Talent Scout.
• Additional pertinent references are acceptable in support of your application.
