Construction of the 91/Perris Valley Line (PVL), which will extend Metrolink
commuter rail service on the 91 Line, began in October 2013. Led by the Riverside
County Transportation Commission (RCTC), the 91/PVL is the first extension of
Metrolink service since the Antelope Valley Line was built in 1994. The 91/PVL will
continue rail service 24 miles from the downtown Riverside station to south Perris,
with stops at four new stations. The 91/PVL is expected to open to riders in late
2015. 91/PVL fares and schedules will be available on the Metrolink website in late
fall, visit metrolinktrains.com/fares.

TAKE THE TRAIN
Taking the train for southwestern Riverside
County residents becomes a reality later
this year. Just imagine the possibilities of
traveling to your destination in comfort. Taking
Metrolink is a great way to get to work or
wherever you are traveling. Not only do you
get to sit back, relax, and let someone else
do the driving, but you save money and help
reduce air pollution and traffic congestion.
The project includes construction and rehabilitation of railroad tracks, upgrade
of 18 at-grade crossings, and construction of four new stations: Riverside-Hunter
Park/UCR, Moreno Valley/March Field, Downtown Perris and South Perris.
Once operational, the 91/Perris Valley Line will offer peak morning and afternoon
trains from the new 91/PVL stations to the other stations on the 91 Line: Riverside
Downtown, Riverside-La Sierra, North Main Corona, West Corona, Fullerton,
Buena Park, Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs, and Los Angeles. There also will be
connection opportunities to transfer to trains along the Inland Empire-Orange
County Metrolink Line, which offers service to Orange, Santa Ana, Tustin, Irvine,
Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente and Oceanside.
The Metrolink system offers many connection options, including Amtrak, Metro
Bus-Subway-Light Rail, express buses and a Fly-Away link to Los Angeles
International Airport.
Metrolink is a comfortable and safe alternative
to commuting. Trains provide power outlets for
electronic devices, work tables, and restrooms.
A “Quiet Car” also is available during weekdays to offer a peaceful environment for those
who want to rest or work without distractions.
Metrolink makes it easy to plan a trip with
up-to-the-minute alerts and service advisories
via its mobile website and Twitter feed. Visit
metrolinktrains.com for more information.
