Festival Wrap Up
First of all Thank you to
everyone who worked
the festival in some way.
It takes an enormous
amount of time and effort from our parishioners to host this event for our eastside
community.
Help is still needed:
Monday , July 13th - Disassembling
booths and clean up. Please bring a
cordless drill and or ladder. Bring a 7/16”
ratchet head if you have one. Lunch will
be provided on this day.
The Winning Raffle tickets will be listed on
our website: www.holyspiritwww.holyspirit-indy.org or
you can call the Parish Office starting
Monday morning.
Silent Auction Items need to be picked up
by Friday July 17th. Please call the office
if you need to make arrangements for an
alternate time. If you do not pick up your
items by the 17th then we will be offering
it to the next highest bid.
While I must write this before
the Festival, I want to thank everyone who volunteered. We
need much help and I am
always amazed at how it comes
together each year. Special thank you to those
who worked every night…hope you get some
rest in this week.
Last December, Our Lady of Lourdes and St.
Bernadette’s were merged into a new parish.
There was much concern about what would
happen with the St. Bernadette campus, hoping
that it would remain as a Catholic center of
some nature. This coming week, July 16th at
7:00 P.M. Archbishop Tobin will be dedicating it
as the new Intercultural Ministry Center for the
Archdiocese. We are very pleased and excited
that this campus will remain active and that the
Intercultural ministry will have its own place.
You are welcome to come for the dedication.
Throughout the next six months, the
Intercultural Center will be offering the “Ethnic
Dinner Series.” Six different cultures will be
highlighted with special food from each region,
artifacts for viewing and a presentation. The
first one will be July 18th on the Vietnamese
Culture. For tickets you can contact
archindy.org/multicultural.
Remember, Monday morning (July 13th) we
will be disassembling booths from the Festival,
beginning at 8:30. Help is really needed. If you
have a cordless drill and/or ladder, please bring
them. You will need a 7/16” ratchet head for the
drill. Send over those high schoolers who are
getting bored!

The Hispanic community is
organizing three picnics this summer to invite the Anglo
congregation to join for an afternoon of fun, food and camaraderie. The dates are:

The picnics will start at 4pm. They are all at Paul Ruster
Indy Park, 11300 E. Prospect 46239. From the corner of
German Church and Prospect, go about half a mile East
on Prospect. The Park will be on the North side. Please

Retrouvaille:
A Weekend for Marriages in Crisis
Retrouvaille (pronounced retro-vi with a long i) is a
French word meaning 'rediscovery'. This program
offers tools needed to rediscover a loving marriage
relationship. Thousands of couples headed for cold,
unloving relationships or divorce have successfully
overcome their marriage problems by attending the
program.
Fatima Retreat House hosts two Retrouvaille weekends each year (February and August). This program
is sponsored by the Archdiocesan Office of Family

St. Mary of the Woods Retreats
Yoga retreat scheduled
White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, a
ministry of the Sisters of Providence of
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, will host a
yoga retreat beginning at 6 p.m., on Friday, July 31,
and concluding at 11 a.m., on Sunday, Aug. 2. The
retreat is open to all levels of practice. Cost to attend

Retreat in Daily Life to be offered
You are invited to take part in a “Retreat in Daily
Life,” with the sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-ofthe-Woods, Indiana. The retreat is an eight-month
focus on everyday prayer for people of all faith traditions. The retreat is facilitated by Sister Mary Moloney. It will begin in October. Cost to participate is

Forgiveness: The Path Inward
The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-theWoods, Indiana, are inviting people of all faith traditions to “Forgiveness: The Path Inward,” scheduled

will explore the gift of forgiveness. Sharing in small

The week following the Festival, Youth Ministry is sponsoring a camping and canoeing
trip on July 13-14. We will be
canoeing along Indiana’s Sugar
Creek around Turkey Run
State Park. The cost of this
event is $25 and more

regards to meeting times, trip overview, etc.
On July 22, we will be making a trip to
Kings Island to ride roller coasters and water
slides. Again, more information can be found in
the West Vestibule, but the cost of this trip will be
$40 and it will include the ticket and transportation
to the park. All meals and locker rentals are extra.

Aunque nosotros los casados no somos de los
Doce que Jesú s llamo al sacerdocio, sino de las
docenas de miles que llamo por otro camino,
también a nosotros nos envía a predicar de dos
en dos.
Es decir, nos envía a que digamos –a cuantos
nos rodean—no con palabras sino con nuestro
amor conyugal, que así como nosotros nos
amamos, así –claro que infinitamente mas–
Dios nos ama a todos.
Esta es la gran misión de los matrimonios cristianos: la de hacer que la gente que ve como
queremos, pueda darse por lo menos una ligera
idea de los que Dios nos quiere.
Porque, como dice uno de los prefacios de la
Misa que se dice el día del Matrimonio: “que en
la unión del hombre y la mujer has dejado la
imagen verdadera de tu amor”.
Por eso el Matrimonio cristiano no se puede
deshacer. Es imagen del amor de Dios, y el
amor de Dios es eterno.
¿No sería bueno reflexionar un poco a ver que imagen del amor de Dios andamos dando?

Anual de Boda de Oro y Celebración a las 2:00
p.m, Domingo 23 de Agosto en la Catedral de San
Pedro y San Pablo en Indianapolis. Arzobispo Joseph W. Tobin
C. Ss. R. celebrará la misa con una reunión informal para las
parejas y sus familiares después de la misa. El evento es gratuito

fin de semana! Sin su ayuda, el Festival no pasaría. Otra

Este es un recordatorio por los candidatos de confirmación:
TODOS de las horas de servicios y formas de reflexión son
debidas la 1 de agosto. Yo necesito todo de eso en mi
oficina en punto. Hay más formas de reflexión en nuestro
sitio web en la página de Youth Ministry. Si tiene problemas
o no puede buscar oportunidades para servir, por favor
llamarme en mi oficina por ayuda, pero recuerda es su
responsabilidad a llamarme y podemos resolverlo juntos.
La confirmación es cerca. Nosotros celebraremos el
sacramento de confirmación el 8 de septiembre en la
catedral a las 7:00. Los candidatos y familias recibirán una
carta antes del fin de julio con información sobre el resto del
programa de confirmación (incluye el retiro, el ensayo de
confirmación y la celebración de confirmación).
