ASSALAMU ALAIKUM
We hope this newsletter finds
you in the best of health and
Imaan. It is with great pride
we share that Crescent
Academy had the biggest
crowd at the Martian
Marathon! Thank you to all
the students and parents who
attended and helped our
school get recognized.
As we all know the end of
school year is approaching.
We wanted to end it by
thanking our wonderful
teachers and staff who work
tirelessly and with utmost
devotion to instill in our
children the strong values
and skills they will need to
succeed in life. May Allah
reward them all.
HADITH OF THE MONTH
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The example of a good companion and a bad one is the
bearer of musk and the worker on the bellows. A bearer of musk would give you some, you might
buy some from him, or you might enjoy the fragrance of his musk. The worker on the bellows, on
the other hand, might spoil your clothes with sparks from his bellows, or you get a bad smell from
him.” (Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim, this version being Muslim’s) Choose your friends wisely.

RECIPE ROUND-UP
PUNCH

You will need:
• 1 whole bottle ginger ale
• ½ can frozen lemonade
• 2 ½ Tbsp powdered strawberry kiwi mix
• ½ gal. rainbow sherbet
Recipe: Mix powdered mix in 1 gallon of cold chilled water,
and stir, otherwise mix will become lumpy! Pour in chilled
ginger ale. Add frozen lemonade. Mix it well. Put the mix in
the fridge. Take the sherbet out of the freezer. Thaw the
sherbet on the counter. Before serving, add rainbow sherbet.
Enjoy your drink!

An Appreciati on
note for the
Crescent Teachers
and Staff!
Work and life
(including getting a repeated
bad cold) have been keeping
me quite busy for the past
several weeks, and I've had
very little time to know what
my Kindergartener learns in
school for the occasional, yet
essential, minutes of follow
up that I've managed to
squeeze in. Not until last
week, when we decided to
have a movie night as a
family and watched a Disney
masterpiece, Frozen… I was
caught off guard when, fifteen
minutes into the movie, my
Kindergartener said “Mama,
notice! They have already
introduced the setting and
characters, and now they are
starting with the problem.”
My husband and I have
always been satisfied with
Crescent Academy
International educating our
two children. However, what
our son said made us both
realize that this institution is
certainly going forward with
its plans and strategies. Many
times, I hear our older child
express his ideas with a
noticeable maturity, but when
such higher thinking came
from our six year old, I felt it
was important to voice my
appreciation. Every day we
send our children to Crescent,
a stream of prayers pops into
my brain. “Alhamdulillah, it
is such a loving and nurturing
place to be in!” Every time
we meet with their teachers,
the devotion and passion in
their words and actions

is easily noticeable. Whenever
we talk with the
administration we find a
listening, proactive team.
