HecNews HECTRONIC‘s Company Magazine 3/2010 Editorial Company Important guest in Bonndorf Governor Mappus shows great interest in HeDu project Dear Reader The Automechanika took place in September and is for us the most important tradeshow for the refuelling/tank gauging sector. It was once again a great event with many partners, customers as well as other sector representatives. If we use the unofficial consumption of Rothaus beer at our standard as an indicator for the success of the tradeshow, then we had some very successful days indeed and are looking forward to an intensive last quarter 2010 as well as 2011. In addition to business as usual and the tradeshow, we also really enjoyed the visit of our Governor Stefan Mappus to Bonndorf. He honoured the commitment of HECTRONIC in cooperation with our neighbour „Dunkermotoren“ to train young people. The „HeDu“ concept lit up the region and was very well received. The trainees did a really great job and we are very proud of them! I hope you enjoy this newsletter. Yours Stefan Forster As part of his 2010 summer tour through the region, the Governor Stefan Mappus visited HECTRONIC GmbH and Dunkermotoren GmbH in Bonndorf on 3rd September 2010. Governor Mappus travelled to Bonndorf in order to get a personal insight into the exemplary training initiative „HeDu“ which is organised by both companies. Hectronic’s Managing Director Stefan Forster welcomed the Governor of Baden-Wuerttemberg to the business premises of Hectronic GmbH on a splendidly sunny day. Stefan Forster was very pleased about the Governor‘s trip to Bonndorf. Mappus used the opportunity of the company tour to talk in-depth to HECTRONIC‘s Managing Director Stefan Forster and was very impressed by the innovative force of the business. Stefan Forster (Hectronic‘s Managing Director) and Nikolaus Gräf (Dunkermotoren‘s Managing Director) presented both company‘s impressive statistics during subsequent presentations. Both Managing Directors emphasised the challenge to find suitable specialist staff in the rural area and named this as the reason for the training cooperation of both companies. Governor Mappus was visibly impressed when the trainees did a lecture with regards to „HeDu“ training initiative: „My compliments, those are ideas and explanations of the highest order.” Governor Stefan Mappus (middle) and Member of BW-parliament Dr. Klaus Schuele (CDU) were pleased with the presentation given by the trainees. Trade shows The Black Forest stand - once again a great success HECTRONIC can look back on a successful Automechanika tradeshow The HECTRONIC stand was very popular during the exhibition. The 21st edition of Automechanika, which takes place every other year, opened its doors in Frankfurt on 14th September 2010. It is the most important leading tradeshow for the refuelling and tank gauging sector. The large number of international visitors had the opportunity to inform themselves on the latest developments in the refuelling sector. Visitors at the HECTRONIC stand could not only get information about the latest products „A successful Automechanika 2010 - not for company and public filling stations but only the quantity but also the quality of could also test the products for themselves. conversations were great. One of the tradeshow highlights was without a doubt the „HECTRONIC Evening 2010“. Frank Gampp BU-Head of Refuelling Fresh draft beer and delicious snacks were served while the comedy duo „Mark’n’Simon“ entertained the crowd. Both artists presented parodies of different pop stars, but the facial expressions of the artists alone filled the room with the laughter of the stand visitors. Once more HECTRONIC had a very successful tradeshow. Our days at the Automechanika resulted in a wide number of interesting contacts and conversations. Refuelling Safe use of TA2331 in mining areas HECTRONIC autofuel terminals now also in Colombia Colombia is situated in the north of South America and is, at 1.14 millions sqm, four times the size of Germany. About 80% of the roughly 45 million inhabitants live in the cities, about 7 million alone live in the capital of Bogota. The agricultural sector is still the main trade basis from an economic point of view. Colombia’s main export products are coffee, flowers, bananas and raw materials. Cerro Matoso is the only nickel mine in Colombia. It is located near Montelibano in the North of Colombia and is owned by the BHP Billiton Inc., an Australian-British raw materials conglomerate. BHP Billiton, Vale and Rio Tinto Group are together the 3 largest mining companies in the world. Cerro Matoso has, in addition to the mines, also its own smelting works, which treats and processes the raw materials. After years of experience in fitting mines in South Africa, Australia as well as Peru, HECTRONIC now has made its first step in Colombia. Several filling stations and tank trucks were fitted with TA2331 in cooperation with the distribution partner Indutronica. In addition, the vehicles and pumps were fitted with PetroPoint automatic vehicle recognition which simplifies the refuelling process drastically. Filling station in the workshop. The approximately 60 vehicles can now easily get authorised via radio to the autofuel terminal and start the refuelling process. Duesseldorf Airport was third place in regards to passenger numbers in Germany thanks to the connection to the motorway network, the public local traffic and also with regards to the broad range of flights to Europe and long distance destinations. In order to maintain this position in future, it was about time to modernise the outdated and unclear refuelling books to stateof-the-art technology. In 2008, Duesseldorf Airport Ground Handling decided to choose a total package made by HECTRONIC and fitted their tank trucks with the TA2331 Mobile, PetroPoint Retail and Software FuelData. The advantages of this system are, amongst others, the complete docu- mentation of vehicle refuelling, the analysis options about the consumption of the individual vehicles but also the alignment about the bought and refuelled petrol. It can also be used to prepare cost accounting reports about refuelling for analysis purposes. In order to use this system, it is only necessary to install the mobile autofuel system to the tank trucks and fit vehicle tags. The passive vehicle tags enable automatic identification during the refuelling process of the vehicle. The entire autofuel data such as fuel type, quantity and vehicle type are directly transferred to the headquarters by the TA2331 via GSM. The HECTRONIC autofuel system software allows analysis of the resulting refuelling data easily and quickly. The project resume has been evaluated very positively for which we have to be thankful for to our distribution partner Kienzle Systems who carried out the entire transaction. Duesseldorf Airport now has an intelligent refuelling system solution thanks to the HECTRONIC installation, which not only simplifies the refuelling process but also enables uncomplicated analysis of the refuelling transactions.
