ITINERARIES & EXCURSIONS
Not only Venice, Burano, Murano, but also Torcello, Treviso, Verona... the list of things you can do starting from Cavallino
is endless and impressive. The choice may differ depending on your personal taste and includes various naturalistic,
historical-cultural and wine-and-food itineraries.
Cavallino area
Military remains such as the fortress on the island of Sant’Erasmo, a Habsburg fortification built by the French Emperor
Maximilan. The fort Vecchio at Lio Grando built in 1849 (an example of Austrian military architecture built to defend the
port of Treporti). Military batteries, built during the First World War to defend the entire area of Venice. Be sure to visit the
famous Cavallino Market with its typical products every Tuesday. For the purchase of your souvenirs every Friday evening
(from June to September) there is a small market in the centre of Cavallino, at only 4 kilometres from the village. At the
end of August a firework display is being launched all along the coast of the littoral (Beach on Fire). Skies are lit up by
emotions along 14 km of beaches in Cavallino-Treporti. A Guinness event.
Venice and the Island of Murano Burano and Torcello
By a public boat service from Punta Sabbioni you can directly reach the famous St. Mark’s Square in Venice or visit some
of the major islands: Murano, famous throughout the world for the art of glass blowing; Burano known for its lace-making
industry and the pastel coloured houses;Torcello was one of the oldest and most prosperous settlements in the lagoon.
Venice’s Feast Of The Redeemer
On the third Saturday of July you can attend the Feast of the Redeemer. The Redentore festival is the celebration most
loved by Venetians, to remind the end of the plague in 1577, one of the most disastrous plagues in Venice history. Still
today it is commemorated with a dazzling fireworks dispay.
Aqualandia
About 10 kilometres from the Campsite is Aqualandia, a water park made in the likeness of a Caribbean island in the
Adriatic Sea. A combination of water slides, fun, extreme sports and water games.
Gardaland and Lake Garda
Gardaland is the biggest amusement park in Italy, at about 180 kilometres from the campsite.
Treviso
About 50 kilometres from the campsite, Treviso is crossed by the Sile River, which forms the characteristic canals in the old city.
