Conference Overview
Nurses have always been in roles that require flexibility and adaptability. Donna Wright, consultant with Creative Health Care
Management, LLC, (CHCM) often states in her lectures that what nurses do is manage change. She points out that in whatever
department or role nurses work, at the core of what they do is to assist patients in managing the stress of transitioning from
one state to the next. That has never been truer than in our current world of health care. More than ever, our patients and
clients need assistance navigating the transition into a new era of health care. It is the same transition for us as their
caregivers, so it is incumbent upon us, as holistic healthcare practitioners, to prepare ourselves to manage and mitigate the
effects of the transition. The OHNA 6th Annual Conference is designed to provide tools for the attendee toward that end.

background in dance and a passion for complementary
medicine. Jess’s vision is to empower the health of her
community. She views illness as the body’s way of getting
our attention so that we might start to make positive
lifestyle modifications. Jess believes that dis-ease can be
reversed by learning to listen to the body, increasing selfawareness, releasing old emotions, adopting healthy
practices and increasing the number of tools individuals
have in their “healing toolbox.” She is passionate about
sharing her holistic perspective with her community and
offers classes, workshops, holistic wellness guidance, and
her dance class, Attunement Movement.

Life is Change: Creative Approaches to Managing
Transitions with Ease, Grace and Joy
This workshop will guide participants into a deeper understanding of the
impact of change and transition on their personal and professional lives.
Attendees will explore and apply change management concepts to reduce
stress. They will learn simple, creative tools for successfully managing life
transitions, for positive outcomes that they can use with patients or self.
Claire Sierra, M.A.
Moving Through Transition in Attunement
Attunement Movement is a guided chakra balancing meditation and
ecstatic dance class put into motion among ambient and world
beats. The purpose of the class is to empower health through stress
reduction, increasing self and body awareness. The student will gain
insight into the connection between energetic blockages and the
corresponding organ systems. The dance portion of the class assists
in the movement of Qi (chi) throughout the body. Attunement
Movement is a light-hearted, meditative dance experience. You’re
sure to leave feeling more alive!
Jessica Young, RN, BSN
Conscious Living, Conscious Dying – Preparation for
Transition
The focus of this workshop and discussion session is how to live
consciously so we can transition consciously back to the Spirit world.
Attendees will consider methods to bring meaning and purpose into the
present moment. Discussion will assist in providing tools for midwifing the
soul on its return to the Spirit world.
Lynn Keegan, RN, PhD, AHN-BC, FAAN
Facilitating the Sacred Transition
In this presentation, the attendee will be presented with the opportunity to
learn skills and techniques for interacting with patients in the area of
spirituality. Spirituality is a domain nurses are required to assess, and
which is still avoided with discomfiture due to a lack of knowledge and/or
skills. The content and experiential will be presented with a sense of
humor, leaving you feeling better prepared to meet your patient’s needs.
Casey Raicer BS, LMT
Transitioning Through Emotions to Healing
The purpose of this workshop is to introduce attendees to The Journey™, a unique
method of working with emotions to heal body, mind and spirit. Students will gain
a greater appreciation of how “emotions are the gateway to our soul.” Students will
experience guided visualizations led by the instructor, and receive scripted
materials to use personally and with patients. The instructor will discuss how The
Journey™ techniques and tools provide excellent support for other healing
modalities, conventional and unconventional, which can be employed by attendees
in their practice to facilitate conscious transitions.
