INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the land of the hornbills! Sarawak is located on the island of Borneo, the third
largest island in the world, and north of the Equator. With its beautiful blue skies and tropical
breezes, you can bathe in the sandy beaches and palm-fringed state of Sarawak.
Kuching – the capital of Sarawak
Kuching means ‘cat’ in Malay. Like its name, this incredible city has its grace and subtlety on
its own. A capital for cat lovers, the world’s first cat museum can be found here. Kuching is
safe, clean and has a surprising number of tourist attractions.

1. NFORMATION
The Sarawak Regatta 2015 Organizing Committee wishes to invite you to participate in the
Sarawak International Dragon Boat Regatta 2015 to be held from 18th to 20th September 2015
at Kuching Waterfront, Sarawak, Malaysia.
2.Required Team/s
Each team of 22 crews must consist of 18 Paddlers, 1 Drummer & 1 Steerer/Coxswain,
1 Team Manager ,1 Coach and 4 Reserves (26 pax).
Each team of 12 crews must consist of 10 Paddlers, 1 Drummer & 1 Steerer/Coxswain,
1 Team Manager ,1 Coach and 2 Reserves (16 pax).
3.Competition Classes and Distances
The Racing Classes:International Open Team 12’s and 22’s
International Mixed 12’s and 22’s
Cancer Survivors Race 12’s ( Open category )
Sarawak Closed Race 22’s (Men only )
Sarawak Closed Race 12’s (Mixed only )
Distance: 400 metres races
4.Rules and Regulations
The Sarawak International Dragon Boat Regatta 2015 will be conducted under the IDBF
Competition Regulations and Rules of Racing, Copies of which will be forwarded to crews
who return completed Named Entries. Information Bulletins will be published to confirm crew
entries at a later date.

6.Prizes
Prizes in cash, trophies and medals
7.Photographs
All crews are required to submit one passport-sized (4cm x 6cm) photographs of all
competitors, coaches and managers. It is important to note that each picture clearly identify
the name and crew of the person. All team leaders can use the photo submission forms for
their crew lists. Accreditation tags will be given during team managers meeting.

The above programme is provisional and is provided to assist crews with their initial planning.
The programme is subject to change.
Competing crews are encouraged to arrive in Kuching not later than Thursday, 17th
September 2015.
9.Entrance Fee
Entry Fee (non refundable) of USD100 per team (one time payment only for unlimited
number of categories participating) upon submission of Provisional Entry Form to :HARLIE MANAGEMENT
