(Students Against Destructive Decisions) has been working very hard to organize a Post Prom Party for May 9-10. The purpose of the all-night party is to provide a safe, drug and alcohol free environment for students to “party till dawn.” Hopefully, this will help prevent any serious drug and alcohol related accidents from occurring after the Prom. Over 100 students attend each year. All GCS juniors and seniors are invited to attend, regardless of whether they go to the Prom. A record number of parents, community members, businesses and service organizations gave very generously their time and resources to help make last year’s event outstanding and very successful. The following is a list of those who have demonstrated their support already this year: Van Auken Express Co. Moosehead Cedar Log Homes, Greenville Saw Service, Inc. Baumann’s Brookside, Barbara Brandon, Oak Valley Logging, Kelly’s Pharmacy, NAPA Greenville Auto and Truck Parts, Inc. Big Top Tents, Town Line Auto, Anne Lafferty Realty, Just A Buck, Grapeville Agency, Inc. Michelle Case. More have expressed an interest and are expected to contribute. Another listing will be publicized in the near future to show S.A.D.D.’s gratitude and to commend the many caring and involved individuals and businesses. A list of students who attend the party, and what time they leave, will be available after the party for any parents who want to contact Mr. Tyrrell at the High School (9665070). If your business or service organization has not been contacted, or you have not yet taken the opportunity to become part of this combined effort between the school and community, please feel free to join in!
