It includes techniques to improve your skill in taking MCQ examinations, as well as pointers on practical ways to remember facts and data by emphasizing the understanding of some basic principles. This book is not offered at any other surgical conference and is not available in stores. Plus, you will receive an illustrated and complete digital syllabus (available online two weeks prior to conference for downloading and on flash drive at the course) to reinforce your learning and further aid you in exam preparation. There are three evening sessions: Sunday night will include a review on “How to Improve MCQ Scores and Exam-Taking Skills,” and a 100-question review. Monday night’s schedule includes “How to Pass the Certifying Exam (Oral Exam),” followed by “Demonstrations: Mock Oral Examination.” There will also be two optional sessions Monday evening for those not actively preparing for exams, including “The Next Surgical Frontier: Global Surgery” and “Medical Aspects of Presidential Assassinations.” On Tuesday night, there will be an additional 100-question review. Self Assessment The New York General Surgery Board Review Course provides up to 52 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and selfassessment credits toward Part 2 of the American Board of Surgery Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program for Physicians. In order to claim the self-assessment credits, you must score 75% or higher on the post-test, which will be available for 3 months after the course.
