C. 93011 R SRLUTE TO MORRIS M. RRSMUSSEN On February 25, of 57, 1994, "Morey" RasmusseYI passed away at the age following a brief illness with pancreatitis. remembered for his many fine qualities. He will be Do you know why Morey had a big physical stature? To "hangar" his big heart! He was always willing to assist others in need, always friendly and he always had a smile. I'm certain that the combination of Morey's desire to serve others and his love for flying are what attracted him to join the North Hennetln, MN C1Vll Air Patrol Composite Squadron back in 1977. CAP became a family affair when his son, the cadet program and his wife, senior member. Todd, joined Betty joined the squadron as a Morey remained active with the North Hennetin Squadron until 1981 when he and his family moved to California where he joined us at Camarillo Squadron 61. As a Mission Pilot, Morey participated in dozens of search and rescue missions for missing aircraft, fl i ghts. missing hunters, ELT missions and Red Cross Between 1985 and 1987, Morey served as Commander of Squadron 61. Under his leadership, obstacles that had blocked the construction of our current CAP building were overcome. One of the largest obstacles was the need for money. Morey solved that problem by encouraging those who contributed to the United Way through payroll deduction to direct their contributions to Civil Air Patrol Squadron 61. Soon after that our squadron had all the funds needed to complete the project. Here are a few quotes from several members of Squadron 61 who worked closely with Morey: "He'll be remembered by his staff members for his well organized meetings, home"; often held at his "He was very group oriented and tried tc, get everyone involved"; He was an excellent Squadron Commander to work with and well orgarli zed"; "He had a horlest corlcern for the cadet program". Morey enjoyed getting together with fellow CAP members for coffee and pie ••• and everyone enjoyed getting together with Morey. He was just a lot of fun to be with and he made everyone feel impc,rtarlt. Services were held on March 2, Pierce Brothers Mortuary. 1994, at the Camarillo Chapel of Eleven members of Squadron 61 attended to pay their respects to an individual who had set an example of how to serve others with ·a smile. Betty, his son Todd, He is survived by his wife and daughter Wendy. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Because of Morey's love for CAP and its mission, requested that the family in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Civil Air Patrol Memorial Fund For Morey Rasmussen. MORRIS M.
