Trapped within a forced intimacy, lost from a life he left behind, Georgios discovers the stark difference between choosing to disappear and losing yourself completely. · Biographies · CHRISTOPHER GRECO Georgios Working in screen productions throughout Europe, Christopher Greco is one of the leading actors in Cyprus. Trained at London’s International School of Screen Acting and the Mountview Academy of Performing Arts, Christopher has appeared in film and television as varied as HBO’s Emmy Award-winning House of Saddam, Andrea Pantzis’ Joy and Sorrow of the Body and Panikos Chrissanthou’s Akamas – the first Cypriot film to be selected for the Venice Film Festival. After a variety of Theatre, Film and Television roles she found fame as Helen Stewart in the ITV drama Bad Girls. This led to further leading roles in British Television in Wire in the Blood, Monarch of the Glen and Downton Abbey. Amongst his many theatre credits are the West End production of Blood Brothers, Trackers at the Royal National Theatre and Pastoral at the Soho Theatre. He has directed six short films and the experimental feature Leaves which was nominated for Best UK First Feature at London’s East End Film Festival. Raised in Tyneside, he studied photography and film at Edinburgh Napier University, graduating with an MFA in Advanced Film Practice from Screen Academy Scotland. An alumnus of Berlinale Talents, Edinburgh International Film Festival Talent Lab and Reykjavik International Film Festival Transatlantic Talent Lab, his work has screened worldwide at festivals in London, Stockholm, Milano, Drama, Kyiv, Busan, Mexico City and beyond. His most recent film As He Lay Falling premiered in competition for the Best Short Film Award at the 68th Edinburgh International Film Festival, received Special Mentions at the 11th Reykjavik International Film Festival and the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, and won the Directors Jury Award at the 16th International Short Film Festival of Soria. His films have played in festivals worldwide and won awards at Clermont Ferrand, IDFA, DOKLeipzig, Alcine and Glasgow amongst others. In 2011 his cinematography for the short film Disco was awarded a BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award. In 2012 his documentary on Jocky Wilson, the multi award winning Kirkcaldy Man, earned him his second BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award after scooping the Golden Dove for Best International Short at DOKLeipzig. As one of the key players at Savalas, he helped to oversee its emergence as one of the leading post-production facilities in the UK. Douglas has over 20 years experience in cinematic sound work. He returned to the CFC to attend its Producers' Lab. Script development roles preceded production of Ice Men, released internationally by Seville Pictures. In Nova Scotia, he executive produced 12 short films for the Atlantic Filmmakers Cooperative and managed the international co-production event Strategic Partners.
