Box 51723 Knoxville, TN 37950 Over 70 owned cats and dogs were altered during our World Spay Day Spay it Forward event this February. During the three-day event, we asked people to Spay it Forward and not only alter their pets, but sponsor the spay or neuter of another pet in the community. You can save lives by donating to our public education and spay and neuter programs. Thanks to your help, we were able to make spay and neuter even more affordable and accessible at only $25. Every year, thousands of pets in the Tennessee Valley give birth to puppies and kittens who end up homeless and sometimes euthanized for lack of homes. Altering your pet is the biggest action you can take against pet overpopulation. But, it doesn’t stop there. Together we can make a change when you Spay it Forward. Please help us take a stand against pet homelessness in our community and end the euthanasia of adoptable animals in Tennessee. I AM PART OF THE SOLUTION In Honor Of... Cindy Stephens Cassell Remembering our dear friend who will continue to make the world a better place through those she inspired... Animal advocate and HSTV supporter, Cindy Stephens Cassell, will be greatly missed. Her warm southern drawl and inviting smile were just the beginning of a remarkable woman. Cindy had a contagious zest for life and inspiring strength. She was a doting grandmother and hero to the helpless. Cindy loved her family, friends, and of course animals. “She couldn’t turn her back on any of God’s creatures... And was upset when she lost just one,” says close friend Lee Jordan. Each pet, including her fish, was matched with the right home. “Cindy was obviously orchestrating the re-homing of all of her animals,” says Jordan confidently. At HSTV, we will remember Cindy as a Humane Hero who lent her talents, time and heart to animals in need. As a supporter, Cindy served in several capacities. During her time on the board of directors, she organized Bark in the Park in 2010 and 2011. She fostered to save helpless lives. She generously made financial contributions to our mission. And, When Cindy passed away she advocated with brave words suddenly last December, she left for those without a voice. “I will behind seven dogs and a fish. miss Cindy’s voice at HSTV.
