he is laid-back, goes
with the flow, and is
friendly. He is at the
cat condos in the
New Bern Petsmart!!!
While you are out
shopping, stop by and
say hello!
1. The Untrained Dog – Without training your dog doesn’t know the rules and like a child,
since they don’t instinctively know right from wrong, they act on impulse. The earlier you start
the training the better but is never too late to train your dog and there are many good, professional trainers in the area should you need help.
2. The Fearful Dog - An anxious or fearful dog can be very dangerous. Even if the situation
doesn’t seem dangerous to you it may to the dog and they will often lash out in an attempt to
protect themselves. Exposing your dog early to many new things will help them be less fearful as they grow up.
3. The Unpredictable Dog - If you know your dog can’t always be trusted make sure you
monitor them at all times while they are around new people or other animals. Never leave
them alone, especially with children or smaller animals.
4. A Tired or Sick Dog - Since dogs can’t verbally tell us to leave them alone because they
don’t feel well, they often snap at someone who is “pestering” them. Snapping is a warning
but can cause injury if contact is made. Make sure to keep small children away from a dog
until it is fully awake and you are sure it is feeling ok.

5. The Unfamiliar Dog - If the dog doesn’t know you he may be uncomfortable at
first. Always let a new dog come up to you and remember to respect his space. It is usually
wise to pet the dog’s body, not the head until it is comfortable around you.

2 y/o Boxer mix who will soak
up all the love he can. He does
well with other dogs and loves
to play!! Come meet this precious boy and see if he might
be the right fit for you and
your family! He hopes so!
HOLLY ~ PLAYFUL spayed
1½ year old lab mix who loves
to play ball. Knows some commands. She is fine around
other dogs in public places,
she just doesn’t want to live
with one! Active girl who is
looking for her forever home!
ARBY~ CUTE 3 y/o hound
mix who loves to go for walks
or play in the runner. Hounds
make great family pets and
Arby is no exception. A lot of
happiness in this small package!
RIZZO ~ PRECIOUS neutered 6 m/o puppy who is too
cute for words. He is always
happy and loves to play. As
with all puppies, consistent
training will help him blossom
into an awesome boy!!
BLAIR ~ HAPPY spayed 2 y/o
old terrier mix who enjoys her
time out at the shelter. She is
an active girl so she loves to go
for walks or a good run in runner. Doing well at working on
her leash manners as she is
eager to please.
ZIGGLER ~ LOVABLE neutered 2 y/o lab mix that
loves life, cuddles, and long
walks. He would be a great
cuddler, playmate, and running partner. All he needs is
the perfect family to appreciate the wonderful lab
he is!

fur. Seems shy at first but
opens up quickly. Walks
great on a leash and knows
some commands. As with
most hounds, she will make a
great family pet!

who has a sweet disposition.
She takes a few minutes to
warm up to you but once she
does, she is a big old love
bug. All she needs is a family
to give her a chance. Could

boxer mix who is the perfect
size for a lap dog! It is a good
thing because that is where
he wants to be—in your lap!!
He is super sweet and very
affectionate! Not to mention
absolutely adorable—you have
to love those cute ears!!
ROXY ~ BEAUTIFUL 5 y/o
spayed Lab mix who loves
kids so she would make a
great family dog. She loves
to go for walks that end with
lots of cuddles. Kisses are
your reward for spending
time with her.
MILES ~ LIVELY neutered
year old Australian Cattle
Dog/Lab mix who is very
playful and loves to go in
the runner then for a good
walk. His sweet disposition
would make him a perfect
fit for a family. He is hoping that a perfect family
will come for him!!
KNOTTY ~ AFFECTIONATE 2
y/o lab mix who gives the best
hugs and snuggles into your
neck on his walks. He needs to
be the prince since he wasn’t
well socialized as a puppy. Don’t
worry, he has all the love you
will ever need and loves to give

JACKSON ~ Neutered 3
year old Bloodhound/Boxer
mix who is a “GENTLE GIANT” but he has to be to
hold that big heart. Loves
children and other dogs his
size. Seems to be housebroken. Walks great on a
leash!!!!!

2½ terrier mix who is the
happiest when she has a
squeak toy. She loves them
and play with them all she can.
She is always smiling on her
walks and great on a leash.
For her, cuddling is part of
walking as she stops to give
hugs along the way.

housetrained lab mix who
loves kids, dogs, & even cats.
Most of all he loves his humans so he would do best in
a home where someone is
home often. He is always
smiling and happy. He would

who is as beautiful inside as
out. Does well with other dogs,
but not cats. She came in with
her brother & mother who
have been adopted. She is
praying her family is coming
soon.

4 y/o terrier mix that finds
himself back at the shelter
due to no fault of his own. He
is hoping his Juliet is still out
there and that it will be forever this time!! He loves to snuggle and cuddle!!
