Sector Based Work Academy
Sector Based Work Academies (SBWA) are a government-led initiative and one of the Get Britain Working
measures. They are coordinated between ourselves, a designated employer and the Department for Work and
Pensions (DWP).
As a customer, you will typically be advised to attend an SBWA by the DWP as they feel it will benefit your
employment prospects.

The popular scheme focusses on specific training that an employer has requested and agreed with eResponse.
This is often a training programme of between one and two weeks which will be followed by a short period of
work experience.
Those who shine during this period are then taken forward to an interview with a potential employer or a
member of our recruitment team. If the interview is successful then a job offer can be made.
Through us, these free-to-attend courses are widely available to Job Centre, Welfare to Work, and directreferral customers.
Training delivered for you
Here at eResponse we provide training opportunities which are only available to the unemployed or those
under threat of redundancy.
This service is designed to boost skills and give people the training and qualifications required to apply for, and
successfully carry out, a specific role in a wide spectrum of industry sectors.
Although training provision comes with no work experience or job interview, we tailor the courses to meet the
requirements of our recruitment team – something which helps ensure that those students who stand out
from the crowd are considered for any suitable roles.
The student can often gain valuable added benefits if they can demonstrate they have moved in to
employment as a result of their training. Benefits include a congratulatory ‘job outcome payment’ of £50 or a
grant for obtaining a security industry authority licence.
