Envision Networks® Welcomes Valerie Brooks
Returns to Radio as Director of Affiliate Relations
(AUGUST 2014) – Envision Networks® is proud to announce the addition of Valerie Brooks as the
Director of Affiliate Relations at the 11-year-old media network. After a stint in television sales at
Gannett-owned NBC affiliate WKYC-TV in Cleveland, Brooks returns home to radio, her true passion.
Ms. Brooks graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in psychology but opted to
forego graduate studies and apply her training to solving business problems with the power of radio
advertising. Perry County Broadcasting WWJM New Lexington-Zanesville was where she learned the
art of local sales, creative commercial writing and promotion. She was recruited out of small market by
Radio Ohio, WBNS-FM and then went on to assume a sales management position with Reams
Broadcasting in Toledo, Ohio – home of legendary Rocker FM104 WIOT & WCWA-AM.
Ms. Brooks took a brief hiatus to become a mother and opened a Town Planner Direct Mail
franchise in Toledo where she received national recognition as Rookie publisher of the year. When an
opportunity at Nationwide’s flagship WNCI opened, she returned to Columbus radio. Divesture of the
radio division resulted in the entrance of CBS Radio to the landscape where she followed mentor Dave
Robbins to begin her CBS management tour of duty including Ohio’s First Country Station WHOK-FM,
Ohio’ s Best Rock QFM-96 WLVQ and the Big Wazu. After CBS sold her market, she relocated to CBS
Cleveland assuming management of WDOK sales.
