French Ministry of Public Health monitors the quality of the water on all the
relevant sites to enable everyone to go
swimming under enjoyable and safety conditions.

• Do not take baths while it is raining
or just after. Rainwater runoffs may
contain infectious microbes.
Twenty seven sites have been registered in Champagne-Ardenne. Sanitary
checks are held regularly throughout
the opening period. Water samples and
surroundings of each places are subject
to tests and inspections.
This brochure is a guide to help you to
choose a spot where you can relax and
enjoy the water.
/// WHEN SWIMMING
• Avoid bathing after eating a heavy
meal or drinking alcohol.
• Get into the water step by step,
especially after having been exposed
to the sun for a long time.
• Respect local safety instructions.
• Do not overestimate your physical
ability.
• Keep your children under watch.
• Always swim in an area watched over
by a lifeguard.
/// WHEN THE WEATHER IS HOT
• Avoid long exposure to the sun, especially between noon and 4 p.m.
• Keep babies and children under
shade. They have to drink water
regularly.
• Use suitable protection such as : sun
cream, sunglasses, hats and parasols.
• Check the suitability of medicines you
ingest during and after sunbathing.

SAFETY AGENCY
organizes regular checks on the water.
Samples are taken and analyzed by government approved laboratories. Results
are sent to the sites manager as soon as
they are available and are immediately
published.

At the end of the season, results received
during the summer season are carefully analyzed and each swimming sites
classified ad follow :
