Invitation Letter
Dear Sir/Madam:
On behalf of Muslim Association of Canada (MAC), we are pleased to cordially
invite you to the Educational Muslim Achievement Awards Night (EMAAN) that is
taking place on May 2nd, 2014. The objective of the event is to encourage youth
in our community to seek knowledge by furthering their education, to contribute
positively to society and to celebrate Muslim student achievements. Many
students strive to attain the grades necessary to achieve EMAAN academic and
special recognition awards, and last year almost 300 Muslim youth were
presented with awards nationally. For more information, please refer to the
“EMAAN Information” section of this package.
Please find the enclosed details about our organization, EMAAN, and our
estimated budget analysis for the event. You will also find information about how
your organization/business will benefit from participating and contributing to this
new venture. In brief, the details of the event are as follows:
Event Outline:
Overview: The program will include a graduation ceremony segment, an awards
presentation segment, and an entertainment segment, as well as a dinner.
Timing/Location: The event will be held on Friday, May 2nd, 2014 – Location TBA
Audience: The target audience will be the general London population (all ages
included)
Approximate number of guests: 450-500
Tickets: ~$30/Adult, ~$20/Applicant and ~$15/Child

(FouseyTube), Asalah Group, Boona Mohamed, Baba Ali and/or Moe Amer

About MAC
The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) is a religious, educational, social,
charitable and non-profit organization. MAC provides services and programs
designed to assist in the holistic educational and spiritual development of the
Muslim individual and family. A primary tenet of MAC is community involvement
and service not only within the Muslim community but also within the broader
London community. Locally, the MAC London Chapter has been active in
operating the MAC Youth Centre in the heart of London, providing services to
individuals of varying demographics including youth and is seen as a staple
within the community.
A national, grassroots organization, MAC currently operates in twelve Canadian
cities including Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Windsor,
Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
MAC's vision and mission is to establish an Islamic presence in Canada that is
balanced, constructive and integrated, though distinct, within the social fabric
and culture of Canada. MAC upholds a balanced view of Islam that is deeply
rooted in traditional sources yet dynamic in its dealing with the current
Canadian context. We strive to serve our fellow Canadians through
volunteering. We are driven by our belief that community service and spirituality
are inseparable. We particularly serve Muslim youth in London by providing
various services and activities.

About EMAAN
Education is very important in Islam. The Muslim Association of Canada is
organizing this program, Educational Muslim Achievement Awards Night
(EMAAN), an apex event that honors and recognizes students for their
achievements over the past academic year. EMAAN is a national program with
an objective to encourage youth in our community to seek knowledge by
furthering their education, to contribute positively to society and to celebrate
Muslim student achievements. EMAAN is completely implemented, organized,
and executed by the efforts of volunteers, who play a vital role in its success.
EMAAN provides great scholarships to the students who show an excellent
achievement record. Academic awards will be offered to all students who will
graduate in 2013-2014. Scholarships for post-secondary education and Umrah
Tours (in the process) are awarded to select EMAAN students.
Overall, EMAAN is a program that strengthens our Canadian heritage and
represents our multicultural Muslim community.

Estimated Budget Analysis:
Shortfall:
The revenue from ticket sales will be used to cover the rental cost of the venue
as well as the dinner expenses. In order to secure the speaker as well as other
expenses including entertainment, scholarships, advertising, trophies and
certificates, we are in need additional funds of $10,500. Most performers are
based in the United States and, therefore, we are in need of covering
corresponding travel and accommodation expenses. We would greatly
appreciate your assistance.
