As the excitement following recruitment subsided, new members began bonding
with their chapter members and eventually found a family within their sorority. After a
week filled with gifts and secrecy culminating in a big reveal, the newest bigs and littles spent
the weekend together at the football game or just having fun together.

Woman Spotlight
Katie Miller, a Political Science major from Delta
Gamma, received a prestigious internship with the San
Francisco Chronicle. Her chapter says, “ she has given
her life and soul to the Daily Cal for over a year and is
so deserving of this opportunity. Congrats, Katie!
Zeta Tau Alpha is thrilled to be welcomed back
into the Cal Greek community. After a successful
recruitment, new members of ZTA are eager to
immerse themselves in what Zeta Tau Alpha and
Panhellenic have to offer. The new members had
their first colony meeting this week, started the
new member education program, and are
spending time with their new sisters. Soon we
will select and train chapter officers, and
members will be actively participating in Greekwide programming. The month of October is very
special to Zeta Tau Alpha, as our national
philanthropy is Breast Cancer Education and
Awareness. ZTA is pairing with the Athletic
Department on October 12 to host the chapter’s
first ever “Pink Out” philanthropy event. We will
also be distributing pink ribbons and information
about breast cancer at NFL “A Crucial Catch”
games this October. Zeta Tau Alpha hopes to
build positive, strong relationships with other
chapters and campus organizations, and we are
looking forward to seeing how the Greek
community will “Think Pink®” with ZTA during
the month of October!
