Important Notes About Your Paramedic Recertification: 1. Due to procedural changes in the paramedic refresher processes used by the National Registry of EMT's, JTM is no longer capable of signing as the approving authority (for the agency training officer and/or medical director). We will continue to provide documen-‐
tation to each attendee verifying successful completion of paramedic core content and /or transitional requirements. At the time of re-‐certification, the attendee needs to seek signature endorsements from their agency's medical director and training officer. Please refer to http://www.nremt.org/nremt/about/reg_para_history.asp for more in-‐
formation or consult your medical director. 2. Both of JTM's paramedic re-‐certification options ("Bare Bones" and SOFMED) exceed the total number of ‘trauma’ hours required by the National Registry of EMT's for paramedic re-‐certification. In an effort to add the additional requirements for transitional para-‐
medic courses, we have eliminated the formal Pre-‐Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) refresher course as part of both Bare Bones and SOFMED courses. For those students who require PHTLS as part of their Paramedic Refresher require-‐
ments, we have two options: 1. Attendees of our paramedic re-‐certification courses may be eligible to complete a PHTLS hybrid, on-‐line program (at their own expense) before our program and complete the practical skills evaluation with JTM during either the Bare Bones or SOF MED. If interested, please let us know well in advance of your refresher program. 2. JTM will continue to schedule stand-‐alone PHTLS programs from time to time. Please refer to our website for more information. 4
