This is expected to solve the perennial flooding of most areas here. The 1st DEO reported that it has completed the construction of the P1.5 million slope protection along the riverbanks at barangay Kiling in Cabangan. This will prevent flooding in the low-lying barangays of Cabangan where crops ready for harvest are often inundated. Also, the slope protection will divert floodwaters from the national highway which is impassable during the rainy season. Two major projects completed by the Zambales 2nd DEO will likewise protect the province from widespread flooding. The P9.2-million rehabilitation of the Consuelo River in San Marcelino will prevent flooding in barangay Nagbunga and in Castillejos and San Narciso towns. The waterway connects Consuelo North Road to San Marcelino going to San Narciso. Also completed at the cost of P11.853 million is the construction of the slope protection of the Sacatihan River in Subic. It seems like only yesterday when the Samsung Galaxy SIII dominated the market. But now, as a follow-up to the most powerful smartphone ever, Samsung released the Samsung Galaxy S4, which, by the looks of it, is guaranteed to blow our minds with its multitude of functions and sheer power. We call this “inner and time; respond to successes and failures by drawing on the experience as a learning opportunity, not just a moment to praise or reprimand; and establish a culture where people are treated with respect. Studies of creativity at business schools is a relatively new phenomenon, dating back to the 1980s or so. It’s very new in one sense, yet the presence of creativity in entrepreneurship is as old as entrepreneurship itself. At Centre for Arts Foundation, Inc., where I took up my certificatory courses in Performing Arts and Creative Writing, we define entrepreneurship as the pursuit of opportunity beyond the resources you currently control— so, obviously, creativity is a big factor. Creativity always employs the skill and strategy of making the most out of what you have at present. And in business, this principle is never considered a cliché: Minimize the cost; maximize the benefit. This is where creativity always enters the picture in the business world. MuktiKhaire, a professor at HBS Entrepreneurial Management, said that there’s a construction of creativity that involves many other actors in any company or business establishment. And this needs to be acknowledged and recognized at the soonest time by business leaders in order for them to succeed in their business endeavours. At AIM, we were taught that as a manager, you need to create a culture that will convince people to kick off the filters they’re used to applying and to think more broadly. Radical innovation should never be discouraged, but should actually be encouraged by managers. Ironically, while the emphasis in these types of transitions is frequently on developing the capabilities needed to attack new markets, it is the shift in the mindset of employees, and most of the time conventional and traditional managers, that can prove most difficult. They hate paradigm shifts. They are afraid to leave their comfort zones, thinking that they will always be comforted by these comfort zones forever. A lot of business managers nowadays are afraid to take risks, to venture into something new. But they need to be reminded of this very simple yet significant truism: Nothing stays forever in the world of business; if managers and business leaders want to stay in business forever, they should start right away to make it their business to look at the creative side of business. ● “Radical innovation should never be discouraged, but should actually be encouraged by managers.” 5 Headline Gitnang Luzon JUNE 13, 2013 Allen Iverson and I “What happens when the because the pain was getting unumost important part of a man’s idensual. tity, the beam supporting the other On my way to the doctor, I was unstable matter, is no starting to imagine the worse longer there?” possible things that could This is one of the happen like having a serimost catching lines I’ve ous illness like cancer, blah, ever read. I wonder how those drag racers or bikers who lost their feet in accidents manage to survive a day after losing everything they have. What if you lose everything you’ve worked so hard all your life in a blink of an eye? I thought of Allen Iverson once again. In the article, it was said that people have learned to accept that he’s gone from the NBA, but, AI, for three years wanted to go back to the life he used to have but fate won’t allow anymore so he recluses himself now. I was frightened for myself. I thought about all the abusive things I’ve done because I was too complacent I’d never lose it. But, I was wrong and I realized that every good thing we experience in this world shall pass and if we don’t watch out for it, it’ll be gone before we even know it. If you were Allen Iverson, are you willing to start over? If yes, what for? Where do you think it will lead him? He’s way past his career. Most of the players his age are retiring from NBA because there are a lot more good players now. They are young and have good physical traits; determined and have this burning passion to be always on top. For a veteran like him to start over, will there still be acplace for him? Dating is when two strangers start to get to know each other. The casual “hi” and “hello” start the possibility of liking the other person. Flowers, chocolates, and dinner in some fancy restaurant are ways of showing the intention of a guy to his prospective girlfriend material. With the advancement of our technology and influx of hi-tech gadgets, text messaging, phone calls and video chats are alternatives to the conventional courtship we used to enjoy before. Sending scented love letters to the mail is now ancient. The excitement of seeing the postman with a letter in his hand kicks your emotion to cloud nine back then. In this stage, butterflies in your ELLEZ J. DAVIO stomach lift you to the level of delirium. This is where sleepless nights and hallucinations step in. Falling in love is the last part of dating and it is one of the most wonderful feelings a human could experience. Moving in together is when a couple decide to cohabit before marriage. It is like a trial and error test to see if they really jibe as a couple. Convenience followed by testing their relationship is their gauge to a successful commitment. Chances are, couples who moved in together before marriage have a higher rate of separation anxiety than the couple who are married. However, a study shows that some couples who move in together without a clear commitment to marriage may wind up sliding into marriage partly because they are already cohabiting. I know a lot of people who are in this kind of relationship. Some are successful, Now We Know! “One advantage of being married is that when you fall out of love with him and he falls out of love with you, it will keep you together until you fall in love again.” NOW WE KNOW! Now you will begin to show off your talents. Opportunities will present themselves and you will be able to make that outward push and ride the crest of the wave into fame and fortune--a time of progress. ARIES (MAR. 21-APR. 19) This is a time of good fortune when things open up naturally. Situations are almost magically created just for you and it is easy to see which path is the one to take. Circumstances tend to bend to your will and things have a way of working out smoothly. There are real opportunities to work out difficulties and projects that require both long-term effort and a high degree of discipline. All family members seem to go in different directions this evening and it is good to see so many talents being expressed. If you take a little time this coming weekend to quiz each one on the activities of this evening’s events you might discover some unique talents or some fun interests that can be shared with all. Family members blossom and are expressive and there is more. CANCER (JUN 22- JUL 22) This is a very good day for job-related events. You may shine in your particular job. You could represent or speak for your company or talk about your skills. Looking forward to a long weekend away from home, you will be confirming and planning the final details. You could be taking a day vacation or it may mean you are involved with a company project, on company time. There is a love of all children and animals and it is in these things you may share other parts of your attention. This may mean some political responsibilities or opportunities for you now. Tonight is a wonderful time to participate in outside activities with friends or loved ones--just simply, relax! Music is for relaxing this evening--put your feet up. Careful--you may have little patience with those who are not willing to help themselves. You will be introduced to people in an environment you are not familiar with today but you have plenty of enthusiasm and you warm up to things and people quickly. You have an inner self-confidence that burns with its own light. With all of this emotional energy, you could speak very well. You have a lot of mental drive. This evening you may find that you are in very different surroundings, perhaps an art show, play or museum. Your taste in art and appreciation of creative efforts of people are heightened. There are plenty of ideas for your own creative inventiveness. GEMINI (MAY 21-JUN 21) You are independent, confident and more than likely a little self-centered today. You love attention and somehow manage to gravitate to the center of almost any group or happening. Others accept you--they sense you are a leader and admire your ability to inspire others. Lecturing and teaching and guiding others spiritually may be the times you enjoy the most. Rewards for your actions are available. This could be in pay as much as good advertisement. This afternoon you may seek solace in your family or a loved one or perhaps just time alone. Refurbishing your energy is most important and you will often create times alone or with a loved one to do just that. A movie or a bit of stargazing could be in order tonight. LEO (JUL 23 - AUG. 23) Your unique and unusual qualities are brought out today as someone younger than you seeks advice from you. You could come up with a new idea or understanding that will help your progress. You may not want center stage at this time but you certainly are in the mood to format some new plans for yourself. There is a feeling of importance as you realize how much you impact another person’s life. You feel good about your work position. Open your mind to some exciting new possibilities. Expect delays later this afternoon--pace yourself. This evening your friends may want you to join them in some fun activity. You may be feeling a little lazy after such a busy day but if you go with your friends, you will be glad you did. LIBRA (SEP. 23 - OCT. 23) Being prepared by being organized may mean your success now. This is a time when you can expect a little boost, some extra support or recognition from your peers for your talents. You may feel that you are in touch and in harmony with others. The support you need is available for whatever you need to do. Investment opportunities are available. You may find it silly to ask questions in this area, particularly if it is a personal investment, but you will be wise to collect as much information as possible. You are able to sense and feel in the more abstract mental areas and to bring far-out ideas down to earth. Your many friends may fight to gain your attention--careful, others mimic your behavior. You are a leader and bring positive insights to all. PISCES (FEB. 19 - MAR. 20) You may have difficulty letting go of some sensitive information today. Your no-nonsense, practical approach makes subjects like the unity of life, ideals and dreamy stuff hard for you to take. However, your responsibilities and your goals are very important to you and you methodically go about putting them into a certainty. Progress is evident as you ignore the enormity of any one project to move forward one step at a time. This thursday afternoon may be the time you will want to reschedule an appointment; however, it may be better to keep on schedule. Personal difficulties may arise as a test, not necessarily from these people but from a higher place. Sometimes difficulties can be worked through and then forgotten quickly. SAGITTARIUS (NOV. 22 - DEC. 21) You are very competitive--even pushy--when it comes to partners and other people. Take some time to laugh at the intensity and find a fun way to look at the situation. Some of the competition today may not have anything to do with where you really want to go. You have a great social drive and love to work in a group or with close friends. Your mind runs to domestic issues; home and family are always on your mind. This trait could work against your career interests, especially if your job requires managerial and organizational skills. Perhaps a home business or mail order business would be a good choice for you. This evening is a great time to be with friends, perhaps to share an outdoor barbecue or homemade ice cream. SCORPIO (OCT. 24- NOV. 21) Feelings are something you express with ease and you appreciate others doing the same. Emotional drama is valued rather than avoided. You may be reminded of your various responsibilities today, in order to keep the mind and emotions on the professional pathway! This is the time to get down to the nitty-gritty and take care of some business you have postponed. Obligations from home may come to your attention later today. A meeting with someone older or in authority is in the works and you may be a bit tense about it. Never fear, all will work to the best end results. Your appetite for action is probably well known and well noted. Sports, outdoor activities and everything physical are high on your list of favorites this afternoon. TAURUS (APR. 20-MAY 20) Your outward seriousness and no-nonsense approach to things are obvious to all at this time. You really draw the respect of others as you seem to know exactly what you are doing, where you are going and how to solve whatever quandary might appear. This deliberate sense of responsibility comes across in the way you relate to other people. You have a side to your personality that is very creative and lighthearted, but today you aim to solve problems and get down to the essentials. A young person in your family is probably ready for his or her first dental check and you may be reminded of your own checkups. Any physical maintenance is important and you might make sure you are current for your own eye or dental exams. VIRGO (AUG. 23-SEP.22) You may find yourself having difficulty with concentration efforts today. You have been able to accomplish quite a lot in the workplace lately. Perhaps it is time to find better ways to thin out the responsibilities--or at least, eliminate the many steps that it takes you to achieve results. Pace yourself. Enjoy your friends after work today; perhaps a meal together or a time of group sports could be enjoyed. It just may be the best time to listen to others and gain some new energies as well as new insights. Stability and permanence satisfy a deep emotional need. Music is likely to play a more important role for you than usual--perhaps a play or concert would be invigorating this evening. A feeling of being at peace and stable on the emotional level is present at this time. Headline Gitnang Luzon JUNE 13, 2013 CLARK from Page 1 MISHAP from Page 3 Senior Supt. Angelito Casimiro, Ifugao police director, said foreign tourists who landed at the CIA or the airports in Metro Manila had complained of the long hours of land travel to reach the rice terraces in this province, three of which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Casimiro handled tourism safety and community relations in Mindanao for five years and is now helping improve the facilities, including the comfort rooms, in the areas near the Banaue Rice Terraces. “The tourists say it’s too long and we don’t have time when they learned that they need at least nine hours of one-way land travel to reach Ifugao or Sagada,” said Casimiro. He was referring to nearby Sagada town in Mountain Province, which is also a major tourist spot at the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). Casimiro said they are looking at the Bagabag Airport in Nueva Vizcaya province as the “most ideal area” for the tourists to use after landing the CIA. It takes about an hour of land travel to reach Ifugao from Bagabag town. Victor Jose Luciano, president and CEO of the Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC), earlier said he was into talks with airline companies that will offer “taxi flights” and they will serve passengers coming from Luzon. He cited the airports in Cuayan, Isabela and Bagabag. “They are like taxi cabs that will pick up passengers in North Luzon. Then passengers will take on the flights at Clark,” said Luciano. He said that light planes carrying at least 10 passengers can be used for the airline service. Luciano and other CIAC officials are now preparing the airport and its terminal for the Emirates’ daily Dubai-Clark beginning October. Dubai, one of the members of the United Arab Emirates, is in the Middle East and is used as the major entry point of residents of Europe. Casimiro said Germans and French tourists are frequently seen at the rice terraces in Ifugao, including the one in Battad, Banaue. ● STREET PARTY from Page 1 ing party to thank his constituents in the district who voted for him. The SM City Pampanga freedom day exhibit highlighted the works of the Mandukit Anluagi Ning Sta. Meantime, SM City San Fernando Downtown staged its very first Independence Day Celebration at the ground level attended by Vice Mayorelect Jimmy Lazatin along with mall’s office-in-charghe Engr. ALLEN DIZON others let their relationships go under the drain. I have also seen a few of LGTB (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) relationships who continuously surpass the odds and eventually ended up together. Their mantra: Love conquers all. The barometer of this relationship is not the time they spend together as a couple but on how well they love each other. Marriage is the last stage where the couple finally decide their future as one. It involves the sacredness of matrimony. “What God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” Marriage is all about commitment. Respect, trust and love are the major components of a stable marriage. Open communication is also a key to have a blissful one. One advantage of being married is that when you fall out of love with him and he falls out of love with you, it will keep you together until you fall in love again. Some couples want to grow old together, others wish that their partner might as well disappear from their lives. There is no such thing as “happily married for life”. All marriages have peaks and valleys. There will be misunderstandings and hardcore fights to deal with. Children play a pivotal role in marriage. The adage “for the sake of the children” is always put into consideration. Some couples succumb to the temptation of break-up, others manage to stay and fight. Marriage is like an adventure full of mysteries and complications. It’s like a suspense novel, you will never know what will happen till the end. There is one thing that I loved being married, I get to annoy my husband every time I want to. Cheers!!! ● GADGET from Page 2 Find My Phone” installed in the gadget. “So we just gotta move on, take the dust off and start,” sabi niya nang makausap namin sa presscon ng With a Smile, ang kauna-kaunahan niyang serye sa Kapuso. At least, they care. “So, work again, start working from the ground and go up.” Nu’ng una ngang presscon po namin dito, talagang whatever happens, we pursue, we cooperate, we fight, we work hard whatever happens. “Dapat ganu’n, eh. Kung at this stage, sasabihin ko na mali pala ang ginawa ko, then that means ’yung commitment ko from the start doesn’t mean anything,” he said. “Ah, mayroong plan ang ABS, and then there was a plan in GMA, and of course, the soap was included, we weighed it, what’s my status right now in life, what are my goals and nag-fit po rito sa wonderful offer ng GMA-7 and that includes yes, to grow in acting,” pahayag ng singer. Imagine that Enchong Dee commands a sixdigit amount. The secret is in putting the image, mahusay sa ganyan ang ABS-CBN. They treat their talents as great possessions kaya they also treat them greatly. Tama lang naman di po ba? Instagram photo of CDO Cong. Benjie Benaldo missing her girlfriend. Instagram photo of DAiana Daiana Menezes battered o nagpapansin lang? That is, kung talagang may taong nananakit sa kanya. But if this is just a ploy or a gimmick para sa isang indie ni Daiana, enough! May pinost din itong wedding rings na ang caption ay “Till Death Do Us Part” at may hash tag na #No to Domestic Violence at #N to RAPE at “Till Deathdouspart.” May pinost din itong “Lord please I can’t take this anymore, I’m all by myself here, prayers are much appreciated. But sa totoo lang THANK YOU PO LORD I’M STILL ALIVE.” Sabi pa ni Daiana, “Ang sakit, it’s a physical, sexual and emotional pain that can’t be explained.”
