Steward plans at least two more shows this year. On March 8th Emanuel Steward and the DSBA held a press conference at the Gaelic League, downtown Detroit, to announce Emanuel’s fight card which was held on March 10. DSBA Executive Director George Eichorn started the meeting with some official business and then turned it over to Kronk Boxing’s Event Coordinator and Media Director Dennis Davidson. Emanuel presented the Kronk fighters who were on the card including Andy Lee of Limerick, Ireland. Lee who resides with Emanuel in Detroit, is a rising Middleweight who now sports a stellar record of 28-1 with 20 KOs, who expects a title shot in June. Hosting the press Conference was the Gaelic League who also helped Kronk by selling tickets to the fight and distributing posters through the Metro area and promoted the fight on their radio station WNZK-690. Over 30 members of the league attended. On hand were Mike Brudenell of the Free Press and Marvin Goodwin of the Oakland Press. The event was live streamed by DSBA member Tommy Morris of DetroitCity TV. DSBA members on hand, other than Eichorn, Steward and Davidson, were Dan Graschuck, Mike Alberts, Frank Garza and Eli Zarret. Garza, Graschuck and Davidson serve on Emanuel’s staff. Over forty people attended and enjoyed a catered meal put out by Slow’s Bar-Be-Que. On fight night Eli was the ring announcer assisted by Frank and Dennis. Dan was one of the judges. Robert Dempster somehow found his way to ringside. Attendance was estimated at around 2,000. Many celebrities were on hand that night including former Kronk champs Tommy Hearns and Caveman Lee, also the “first Lady of Boxing” Jackie Kallan was ringside. DSBA members assisting with publicizing the fight were Channel 7’s Tom Leyden, Katrina Hancock and Rob Parker of Channel 4, WJR's Frank Beckmann, Butch Davis of Ecorse Telegram, Tommy Morris of DetroitCity.tv and George Eichorn of the New Monitor. Emanuel and Andy were also on the air with Mitch Albom and were guests on Fox 2’s Morning News. Emanuel is planning at least 2 more shows this year.
