From humble beginnings
to five subsidiaries
Water with high levels of
important trace minerals
Today, the Spritzer brand is bottled
at a vast site of nearly 300 acres
with plentiful resources of natural
mineral water.
From its humble beginning in a
small set-up in Taiping, Perak, in the
late 1980’s, the Spritzer Group now
comprises five subsidiaries which
are involved in the manufacturing
and distribution of natural mineral
water, sparkling natural mineral
water, distilled drinking water,
carbonated fruit flavoured drink,
non-carbonated fruit flavoured drink,
functional drink, toothbrushes,
preforms and packaging bottles.
In an environmentally friendly site
surrounded by lush tropical
rainforests greenery, away from
pollution, the company located its
production plant in the wettest town
in Malaysia. Taiping has an
average rainfall of 4,000 mm and
provides natural water that contain
various kinds of different minerals.
One of which, a very important trace
mineral, bioactive silicon, also
known as orthosilicic acid (OSA),
has been acknowledged by two
universities in the UK to be present
in unusually high amounts.
Expertly managed by Spritzer's
microbiologists and engineers
The company extracts water from sources 400 ft
deep underground. The water is rich in natural
minerals from filtering through the different rocks.
As a result of the bioactive silicon or OSA it
contains, it is said to have therapeutic benefits for
connective tissues. The plant itself boasts the
latest bottling technologies - its production lines
being completely automated to avoid
contamination - and is managed by highly
qualified professionals, including microbiologists
and engineers. To bottle its products in PET,
Spritzer collaborated with Sidel, with whom the
company had a long-standing relationship.

World-class manufacturing plant with royal seal of approval
Having worked with Sidel for nearly ten years, Spritzer invested in the PET technology to cater to the
growing demand and increase in sales. The company ordered a complete water line with Combi
solution.
The Sidel line, which runs at a speed of 16,000 bph for the 1.5 litres format, was installed and fully
operational only a month later. The PET line includes different equipment such as a preform feeder,
Combi machine, pack conveyors, weight checker, labeller and shrink wrapper. The line has a multipacking (foil) handle applicator and wraparound packer so that a wide range of packs of mineral
water can be produced. The world-class manufacturing plant was officially launched by His Royal
Highness, the Sultan of Perak who gave it His royal seal of approval. The company is continuing to
work with Sidel on new bottle designs and plans for further expansion are being considered.
