TICKET TO THE MOMENT
On her third studio CD “Ticket To The Moment” Terry Holder
delivers her emotionally driven songs around lyrics that take you
on a journey with flashes of abandon, heartbreak, love, and
social awareness. She had garnered comparisons to such artist
as Shawn Colvin, Stevie Nicks and Amiee Mann.
From the eternal questions of purpose (In Gods Eyes), and of
love lost or forsaken (Wrecking Ball), to the social commentary
(Crack In The Sidewalk) about those that are less fortunate and
are on the fringe of our society, to the classic Phil Everly cover
(When Will I Be Loved), the songs on “Ticket To The Moment”
reflect basic human emotions with layers of meaning behind
them.
During the recording sessions she was backed in the studio by
veteran musicians Freebo (Bonnie Raitt), Garey Shelton
(Grammy Winner), Joel Tepp (Little Feat), Ben Smith (Heart),
Jerry Holder, Don Garberg, John Nyman, Cynthia Morrow and
John Morton. This band provides a rock solid foundation with
spacious instrumentation that is tightly produced. The album
was mixed by Tom Hall of Ear Works Audio and mastered by Alan
Yoshida at Ocean Way Mastering, the result is stunning.
Recognized for her talent as a songwriter Terry performed at the
2008 and 2010 Kerrville Folk Festival as a New Folk Finalist.
Recently relocating to the Seattle WA area from Alaska she
continues to build a loyal following and will tour as a duo behind
the record.
