WALKS TO GET AWAY FROM IT ALL...
STARTING FROM LES BOUCHOUX
During your walk:
• Don't forget that the landscape is shared by everyone: farmers, forest
workers, hunters, walkers, mountain bikers and horse riders.
• Do not enter private land and property.
• Do not disturb livestock, keep dogs under control at all times
and put them on a lead when crossing fields with animals.
Remember to close gates after you.
• Keep to footpaths.
• Take your rubbish home with you.
• Be careful when crossing roads.
• Some areas may be subject to special regulations
(listed site of Les Bouchoux waterfalls).
Please treat them with respect.

In the steps of Ulysse Dalloz,
miller of Les Bouchoux
A path through meadows, pastureland and forests
to explore the rural world of days gone by and
visit the mill waterfall.
Ulysse is a peaceful man. He likes his life in the
mill on the banks of the Tacon river above the
waterfall. He'll take you there with Flocon, his
mule.
Length: 2.5 hrs round trip

Explore the landscapes of Les Bouchoux

Waymarking: Regional GR
AFTER a 35-minute walk, you join a trail that explains the
landscapes and history of Les Bouchoux. A picnic area
awaits at the end of the route.
For fans of wide open vistas, you can
make a detour to the La Madone viewpoint
(which looks down on the picnic area)
for a stunning panorama over the
Tacon valley, and let yourself be
enchanted by the soundscape of
this special spot.
Le Cuchet viewpoint is reached after 1.25 hrs
(4.5 km one way, from the village).

Circular walks starting from "In the steps of
Ulysse Dalloz, miller of Les Bouchoux" trail
Tailla hamlet
Length: 3 hrs
Grade: moderate
then Regional GR
Waymarking:
Follow the "In the steps of Ulysse Dalloz" trail, then go on
to Tailla, and then Forêt de Choux. Return via Les Cernois,
and then the path leading to the village of Les Bouchoux.
On this route, you can climb to the Le Cuchet viewpoint
from Forêt de Choux; allow around an extra 30 minutes
to get there and back.
Couloirs cross
Length: 3 hrs
Grade: moderate
then Regional GR
Waymarking:
Follow the "In the steps of Ulysse Dalloz" trail,
then go on to Le Prieuré, and then L’Enversy.
Then follow the path leading to the Croix des
Couloirs at a height of 1228 m. From here you
can see the village of Les Bouchoux below
you. A short but steep descent takes you back
to the village.
