Directions to the Emergency Veterinary Services
From show site, turn right on Jonesboro Road (Highway 54 N). Cross over I-285 and turn
left on ramp to I-285 W. At I-285 exit 58 turn off onto ramp towards I-75/Atlanta/Macon.
Merge onto SR-85. Go approximately 13 miles to Fayetteville. Turn left at Banks Road. Go
approximately one (1) to two (2) miles to traffic light at Highway 54. Turn right on Highway
54. The clinic is about one block down on the right side.
“Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian's recommendation to assure their
dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases,
and have appropriate vaccinations.” Proof of rabies vaccination of any animal
at or on the show grounds is required.
Saturday
A New Exhibitor Briefing will be held during this Show. The briefing location &
time will be posted in the Judging Program. Spectators are welcome to attend.

Exit I-285 at Jonesboro Road (Highway 54), Exit 55. At the top of the
exit ramp, take Highway 54 South. Proceed approximately 2/10 of a mile
and turn left at the traffic light onto Conley Road. Entrance to the show
grounds is on the left side of Conley Road.

All persons attending these dog show events hereby
waive any claim for damages against the Cherokee Rose
Cluster or its members, in the event that a motor vehicle
must be entered to rescue a dog from overheating or
that is in distress due to improper ventilation.

Motels used by exhibitor are considered a part of the show
grounds. Misconduct or destruction of hotel property will be
cause for an Event Committee Hearing.

Cherokee Rose Cluster RV Parking
RV PARKING INFORMATION WITH ELECTRICAL HOOKUPS
RV Parking information with electrical hookups will be by reservation only.
Space assignments will be made by the Parking Chairman at the gate.
Parking regulations will be strictly enforced. Parking areas will be considered part of the
show site and any infractions will be referred to the Event Committee for action.
Each rig will be assigned a specific parking space. All setups must be within your assigned
space. Trailer and towed vehicles are considered together as one unit.
All units must be self-contained. Exhibitors will be responsible for clean-up of their parking
areas.
No running of generators will be allowed unless special permission is granted
by Parking Chairman. Bring at least an additional length of 100 feet of 50
amp electrical cord. You must bring a 50 amp adaptor if your cord does not
have a 50 amp plug.
Get fuel before you arrive. The clubs will not provide fuel, cords or adaptors.
Parking spaces will be assigned as you enter the show site. All setups must be
within your assigned space. At the discretion of the Parking Chairman, towed
vehicles and trailers may be required to park trailers in a designated area,
away from motor home location.
Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. If we receive
your reservation after all hookups are taken, you will be notified and your
money refunded.
If confirmation is needed, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
RV parking information without electrical hookups
Overnight RV parking is $15.00 per night without electrical hookups.
LIMITS
Length of tow vehicle plus length of towed vehicle cannot exceed 50 feet.
If length is exceeded there will be additional parking fees.
Honey wagon will be on site Friday, at approximately 5:00 P.M. Pumping is $35.00
& you must be present for pumping. Notify attendant at the gate if you want the
service and you will pay the vendor at the time of service. Do not send payment with RV
reservation.
Motor homes will be allowed on show grounds after 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday,
February 3, 2016. Motor Homes will be parked until 10:00 P.M. Motor Homes
arriving after 10:00 P.M. will be parked the following morning at 6:00 A.M.

Attention Exhibitors
The show site will be available to vendors after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday. Vendors
must setup between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. and all vehicles must be out
of building by 2:00 P.M. Vendor vehicles will not be allowed to interfere with the setting
up of the show rings. Dogs must be removed from the show site immediately following
Best in Show judging of the Lawrenceville Kennel Club, Inc. show on Sunday.
Vendors must vacate the building by 7:00 P.M. Sunday.
Exhibitors will be allowed in building after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday.
No exhibitor vehicles will be allowed in the building for unloading purposes.
All trophies must be claimed each day of the shows. None will be mailed.
The clubs reserve the right to substitute an unavailable prize with one of equal or greater
value.
EXHIBITORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING THE GROOMING AREA
CLEAN & SWEPT EACH DAY.
No smoking permitted in the building - City of Atlanta Code. This will be
enforced.
All extension cords crossing aisles must be taped down. This
is required by the fire marshal and will be enforced.
The building doors will be closed at 11:00 P.M. each night and reopened at
6:00 A.M. Security will be present inside the building. No one other than Security will
be allowed in the building between 11:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M.
The front gate will be closed at 11:00 P.M. each night and reopened at 6:00
A.M.
Vehicles are not permitted in the building unless a pass issued by one of the cluster
chairmen is displayed.
Crated dogs will be allowed in building overnight at owner(s)/agents' risk. Neither the
Show Superintendent, the Clubs nor Atlanta Exposition Center will be responsible for
any dogs or equipment. Crating in specified areas only. CRATES MUST BE STACKED.
No soft sided crates will be allowed at ringside. All crates must have a top. No dogs may
be left overnight in soft sided crates. EACH CRATE CONTAINING A DOG IN THE
BUILDING MUST HAVE A TAG ATTACHED TO IT WITH THE NAME, LOCATION,
AND PHONE NUMBER OF THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT DOG DURING
THE SHOWS.

Any dog in a crate on the Show Grounds
must be identified with Owner/Agent contact.

In an effort to accommodate exhibitors within our limited space, we are allowing crates at
ringside. All crates will be allowed ringside ONLY during judging of that breed and must
abide by the following:

Dog crates must be removed immediately after judging. No dog crate will be allowed on
the show grounds without an ID Tag. Please help us keep this privilege.

Dog crates and dollies for individual breeds must be removed from ringside
within 30 minutes after that breed has shown. Grooming in the building is
limited to designated area. Event Committee reserves the right to require
exhibitor to relocate or rearrange grooming space.

DAY GROOMING AREA IS AVAILABLE FOR THE EXHIBITOR REQUIRING
ONE DAY'S SPACE. ALL EQUIPMENT MUST BE REMOVED NIGHTLY.
No dogs on flexi-leads are allowed in the building.
Dog strollers will be allowed in crating and grooming areas only and at
ringside during breed showing.
Unentered dogs will be allowed in building only if kept in crates in the
grooming area.
No rugs or mats will be allowed on the grooming or obedience area floor.
No x-pens inside the building. Public exercise pens will be provided outside
building. EXHIBITORS MUST CLEAN PEN AFTER USE.
Exhibitors are responsible for the clean up of their grooming areas and
parking areas at all times.
NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED IN THE EATING AREAS OR RESTROOMS.
NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED IN RINGS AFTER SHOW.
DOG BATHING AREA available in building. LOOK FOR SIGN ON BACK WALL.
NO PERSONAL SHOWER FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE ON SITE.
Exhibitors are responsible for their children at all times, both for their welfare and any
damages they might incur.
Children under 16 years of age are not allowed in the building after show hours, unless
accompanied by an adult.
No roller skates, in-line skates, show skates, bicycles, scooters or skateboards will be
permitted in the building at any time.
Disruptive behavior ON THE SHOW SITE will not be tolerated AT ANY TIME.
Breakfast & lunch concessions available.
Parking is $5.00 per day. Weekend pass $20.00. Walk in to grounds will be
$5.00 per person.
Fire lanes in parking area must be maintained at all times. Violators will be towed at
owner's expense.
The City of Atlanta prohibits parking in a handicap zone without proper permit being
displayed. Violators are subject to towing at the owner's expense.
Bring your own chair. NO chairs available on site.
All rights to televise, videotape, advertise, photograph, promote or otherwise exploit
these events are vested in the show-giving clubs. All persons and animals on the show
grounds at any time while the shows are in progress do, by attending these events, grant
to the clubs the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their
likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. Anyone wishing to
videotape or take photographs must receive permission from the Show Chairman of the
individual show.
NEITHER THE CHEROKEE ROSE CLUSTER NOR ATLANTA EXPOSITION
CENTER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY RV FIRES, STOLEN ITEMS OR
MECHANICAL REPAIRS OR RV REPAIRS BEING MADE ON THE SHOW
GROUNDS.

Entry Fee Each Day: $15.00 per puppy
One combined class will be offered for breeds and varieties of dogs that are (4) four months & under (6) six months and divided into
Groups as described in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows and the Miscellaneous Class breeds as listed
in Chapter 3, Section 23. There will be a selection of Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in each Breed/Variety, each Best 4 &
Under 6 Months Puppy in Breed/Variety winner will then compete in their respective group for First through Fourth Placements. The
Miscellaneous Class Competition will be judged same as above followed by a Miscellaneous 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Group
Competition. The Foundation Stock Service Class Competition will be judged same as above followed by a FSS 4 & Under 6 Months
Puppy Group Competition. All First Place Group Winners will be eligible to compete in Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Show.
An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed or Miscellaneous breed.
FSS number or FSS registered litter number will be required for FSS entries.
A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin.
Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian's protocol in order to avoid inadvertent
transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized.
Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be handled by a non-professional
handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers' organization,
distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay. Dogs may not be exhibited by
current assistants and household members of a professional handler.
AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found
in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise.
Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. Breed standard disqualifications such as color, height,
weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Show Competition.

AKC National Owner-Handled Series

The AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by their
owners that are not professional handlers.
All dogs that are owner-handled and are not solely owned or exhibited by professional handlers* meet the
requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of
entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the steward’s book
& the catalog. Dogs must be handled throughout the breed level competition for the regular show by
an eligible owner. Professional handlers, household members and current assistants** to professional
handlers may not exhibit the dog in this competition.
Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of
Breed/Variety competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and undefeated winners of the non-regular
classes. This excludes all dogs defeated during class and winners competition for the regular show.
• If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will automatically be OwnerHandled Best of Breed/Variety and be eligible to compete in both the regular as well as the OwnerHandled group.
• If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is not eligible for Owner-Handled competition and the Best of
Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety is eligible, the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety will
compete against the eligible exhibits of the other sex to determine Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety.
• If neither the Best of Breed/Variety nor the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety are OwnerHandled competition eligible and Select Dog & Select Bitch are both eligible, the judge is to choose Best
Owner-Handled exhibit from the Selects and eligible Winners Dog or Winners Bitch.
• If one of the Selects is eligible, excuse all Champions and non-regular class winners of the same sex
and then choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the remaining dogs of the opposite sex including the
eligible Winners.
• If the regular show Best of Breed/Variety, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety, Select Dog &
Select Bitch are not eligible, the judge may choose any eligible dog who competed in Best of Breed/
Variety including Winners Dog or Winners Bitch as the Best of Breed/Variety for the AKC National
Owner-Handled Series.
• If the Best of Winners is eligible, the other Winners are ineligible since it was defeated.
• No class dogs other than the Winners Dog & Winners Bitch are eligible to return to the ring.
The breed will not be represented in the Owner-Handled Group if there is no eligible dog competing in the Best
of Breed/Variety or in Best of Winners competition.
*Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’
organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for
pay within the last five years.
**A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or, assisting
a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend.

Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition present, after the closing of entries for a show, are required
to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent of Show Secretary
at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show.
AKC Junior Handler Numbers are now required for entry in Junior Showmanship Competition. Numbers may be obtained from

the AKC Eukanuba National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class
and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has
passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.

Sawnee Mountain Kennel Club of Georgia, Inc. is sponsoring a FREE Junior
Handling Seminar and Pizza Party/Social for kids and their dogs of all skill
levels. We will have an AKC Junior Showmanship judge, Darcy Quinlan, and
two former successful junior handlers, Ashley Albro and Amanda Quinlan,
teaching kids how to be better handlers and work with their dogs as a
team. The judge will be explaining what she looks for when judging Junior
Showmanship.
Pre-registration is preferred but we will accept day of event registration
until 3:00 p.m. on February 6, 2016. Pre-registration will allow us to make
sure we have enough pizza to feed everyone. Please complete the form

A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC
approval is not required.
The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp).
At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through all levels of competition
including Group and Best in Show judging: Lagotti Romagnoli; Clumber Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Field Spaniels,
Welsh Springer Spaniels, Cirnechi dell'Etna, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire
Bull Terriers, Keeshonden, Norwegian Buhunds, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, and Norrbottenspets (Misc.).
At the discretion of the judge, the following breed may be judged on the table or on a ramp through all levels of competition
including Group and Best in Show judging: Cardigan Welsh Corgis.
At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging, the following
breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp, or on a table: Boykin Spaniels and Whippets.
The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Sussex Spaniels, Basset
Hounds, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei and Chow Chows. This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation
dog shows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, Junior
Showmanship, the 4–6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS), and all
other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions.
Ramps can be used in emergency situations to judge any breed. In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not
indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund.
For the judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds.

without fees will not be accepted. Acknowledgement of entries will be made as soon as practicable with tickets and/or
identification cards. The person accompanying a dog must show tickets of admission and identification before the dog will be
received. Should such acknowledgement not be received by the exhibitor within a reasonable time, please verify your entry

by a cover sheet stating the number of pages, what shows and how many dogs per show. Visa/Mastercard/Discover/American
Express number and expiration date, as well as the printed cardholder’s name and address must be included on cover sheet.
Visa/Mastercard/Discover/American Express number, expiration date, cardholder’s name must appear on each entry. Fax entries
must be received by the closing hour/date. Fax fee: $4.50 per entry in addition to entry fee. All credit card entries, regardless of
method submitted, are processed through the Fax program and are charged the $4.50 administrative fee. This Fax Fee is subject
to change without notice.
Make All Checks and Money Orders payable to MB-F, Inc. CANADIAN exhibitors must make fees payable in U.S. FUNDS. When
you provide a check as payment, you authorize us to either use information from your check to make a one-time electronic fund
transfer from your account or to process the payment as a check. Please mail checks or money orders with entries. Superintendent
assumes no responsibility for cash sent through the mail. Tabulate carefully. Due to cost of processing, no refunds $4.00 and
under will be made.
An AKC Recording Fee of $.50 first entry only and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 per entry will be required for each dog
entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial or Tracking Test. An AKC Recording Fee of $3.50 will be
required for each first entry and $3.00 for each additional entry in any Licensed or Member Club Rally Trial. All Recording
and Event Service Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club. (There is no Recording Fee or Event Service Fee for Junior
Showmanship, Sweepstakes, Futurities, Brace/Team, Multi-Dog Classes or Special Attractions.)
No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance.
Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from
competition by action of the Event Committee. If because of riots, wars, strikes, civil disturbances, national emergencies, health
emergencies, and the dictates of law enforcement or of the owner(s) of the grounds and/or facilities or other acts beyond the
control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the event, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather
conditions, such as, but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, heavy rains, or other circumstances including,
but not limited to, the condition of the facilities or grounds and/or the ingress and egress from the grounds, must be considered
for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount
importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the event before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made. To
find out about any AKC event cancellations call the AKC Event Cancellation Hotline (877) 252-3229.
Post Dated Checks, Returned Checks and Declined Credit Cards do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Superintendent will add
a collection fee to the amount of each returned check or declined card. Subsequent returned checks or declined cards from the
same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis.
No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed,
no refund will be made. An Administrative Fee of $2.00 will be charged or withheld from refunds for duplicate entries.
An Administrative Fee of $2.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries.
Errors on Entry Blanks. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry
fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date.
Each Owner and Agent listed on the entry form and/or individual responsible for the dog at a show is bound by the Certification and
Agreement on the front and back of the entry form regardless of who may have completed & submitted the entry form.
As specified in Chapter 12, Section 4 of the AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, information contained on the entry form is required
to be published in the club’s show catalog. This information is also subject to publication in other media.
Dogs May Arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused.
Judges Will Not Wait for Any Dog Holding Up a Class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in
the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged.
All Dogs Present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring.
Class Cash Prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before
the judging of that breed is over, and the Superintendent’s Office advised at once. The Superintendents and show-giving Club
disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the breed is over.
No gasoline or diesel generators are permitted inside any building or within 100 feet of any tent in which this dog show is conducted.
HOW TO USE THE ENTRY BLANK
Use one entry blank per dog only if information is exactly the SAME for each event. Carefully check the
block (blocks) for each event in which you wish to enter your dog. You MUST use a separate entry
blank if you are entering your dog in a different class on different events.

In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the
dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members,
and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned
parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may
be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the
event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for
any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or
damage to this dog.
Additionally, I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend and save the aforementioned
parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon
any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom,

INSTRUCTIONS
1. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular
variety you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color), Beagles (not exceeding 13
in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull
Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels
(King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard).
2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions
of Record and dogs which, according to their owners’ records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but
to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.

Non-Regular Classes Involving Multiple Dog Entries
NR2.09100. Stud Dog Class - Will be for Stud Dog and two of their Get. Stud Dog must be entered in the Stud Dog Class
and must be shown in the ring with their Get. Owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of Get. Get only to be
judged, based on the merits of the Get. Get must be entered in one of the Regular Classes, Best of Breed Competition, or
some other Non-Regular Class. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the
Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog
Show Rules, AKC policy or the Standard for its breed.
NR2.09200. Brood Bitch Class - Same as the Stud Dog, except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get.
As the judge's decision in the Non-Regular Classes involving Multiple Dog Entries is based on the merits of more than one
dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best
of Breed by virtue of having won these classes.

Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition present, after the closing of entries for a show, are
requiredtotransfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent
of Show Secretary at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show.
AKC Junior Handler Numbers are now required for entry in Junior Showmanship Competition. Numbers may be

Master Class: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day
of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open Class with competition to be eligible to enter the
Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC Eukanuba
National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may
change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has
passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.

The AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by their owners that
are not professional handlers.
All dogs that are owner-handled and are not solely owned or exhibited by professional handlers* meet the requirements
for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry using the check
box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the steward’s book & the catalog. Dogs must
be handled throughout the breed level competition for the regular show by an eligible owner. Professional
handlers, household members and current assistants** to professional handlers may not exhibit the dog in
this competition.
Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of Breed/
Variety competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and undefeated winners of the non-regular classes. This
excludes all dogs defeated during class and winners competition for the regular show.
• If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will automatically be OwnerHandled Best of Breed.
• If the Best of Breed winner is not eligible for Owner-Handled competition and the Best of Opposite Sex to Best
of Breed is eligible, the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed will compete against the eligible exhibits of the
other sex to determine Owner-Handled Best of Breed.
• If neither the Best of Breed nor the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed are Owner-Handled competition
eligible and Select Dog & Select Bitch are both eligible, the judge is to choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from
the Selects and eligible Winners Dog or Winners Bitch.
• If one of the Selects is eligible, excuse all Champions and non-regular class winners of the same sex and then
choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the remaining dogs of the opposite sex including the eligible Winners.
• If the regular show Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog & Select Bitch are not
eligible, the judge may choose any eligible dog who competed in Best of Breed including Winners Dog or
Winners Bitch as the Best of Breed for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series.
• If the Best of Winners is eligible, the other Winners are ineligible since it was defeated.
• No class dogs other than the Winners Dog & Winners Bitch are eligible to return to the ring.
*Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’
organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay
within the last five years.
**A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or, assisting a
professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend.

Entries Close at Superintendent’s Office at 12:00 Noon, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 20, 2016, or when the numerical
limit has been reached, after which time entries cannot be accepted, cancelled, or substituted, except as provided
for in Chapter 11, Section 6 of the Dog Show Rules.

make a one-time electronic fund transfer from your account or to process the payment as a check.
