“But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will
guide you to all truth...” JOHN 16:13
Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to help us know and live
the truth. To prepare ourselves, we need to open
our hearts to receive this gift before we can give
it. Develop a daily prayer routine to ask the Holy
Spirit to help guide our thoughts and actions.

All couples celebrating a milestone
wedding anniversary (25, 50 or more)
will have the opportunity to renew their

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
Adorers needed
Wednesday 3am
and Saturday 2am.
"Adoration means entering
the depths of our hearts in
communion with the Lord,
who makes Himself bodily
present in the Eucharist. In
the monstrance, He always
entrusts Himself to us and
asks us to be united with
His Presence, with his risen Body." -Pope
Benedict XVI
If you are interested in becoming an adorer
please call Jennifer @ 940-9858 or Jan @
947-4654. Thank you!
The chapel hours are Monday @
7:30am thru Saturday 7:30am. All are
welcome anytime. Come and spend
some time with Jesus.
As we celebrate the mystery of
the Trinity we also realize the
mystery of how much God loves
and cares for us each day. Believing in this our lives can then
overflow in Thanksgiving and
praise.. Our conference Vincentians go into action to help the
needy when we receive requests for assistance
over our parish phone line. Vincentians then, in
pairs, visit the needy family to gauge what we can
do. Most of the time we are helping people handle
their gas, electric, and water utility bills. Oftentimes, we help with rent. Through your contributions and support of the St. Vincent de Paul, you
are evidence of the mystery of God's love for his
people each day in all things.
SOCCER CAMPS
There will be two soccer camps for boys and girls
of the parish ages 5-12 this summer. The camps
will be held at the O’Fallon Sports Park. One will
be in June and one in July.
For information please call Mary at 314-393-1164.
Soccer and Volleyball Registration is open.

ROOM AT THE INN
One night a month St. Cletus houses homeless
women and children in the Parish Center. Parishioners perform various roles in this ministry. We
are currently in need of additional volunteers to
serve as Launderers of bed linens. Working in
pairs you would only be needed on the fourth
Wednesday every three months. Students from
the parish help prepare the night by setting up the
beds. We welcome adults who would like
to help with this also.

DYNAMIC CATHOLIC, ALIVE! – MOST HOLY TRINTY
On this Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, we can reflect on this central mystery of the Christian faith. Today’s Gospel reading included the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the three
persons of the Trinity: one God in three persons. “The Father generates the Son; the Son is
generated by the Father; the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son” (Compendium, 48). The doctrine of the Trinity includes three truths of faith: 1) the Trinity is One, 2) the Divine Persons are distinct, and 3)
the Divine Persons are in relation to each other. For more, go to archstl.org/dynamic
A RE-DO OF LAST YEAR’S PARISH FESTIVAL? If you participated in last year’s Fall Festival, the concluding event of our parish’s 50th Anniversary celebration, on November 15, 2015, you know what an outstanding
event it was. It has been suggested that we repeat it this year, in fact, even making it an annual celebration, an
annual thank-you to all our parishioners for their stewardship commitments toward the parish. In order to consider this suggestion, a committee has been formed, and I would like to invite any and all of you who would like
to be a part of that committee to be present for its first meeting on Thursday, June 16, at 6:30 PM in the Callahan Room on the lower level of the Church. You are still welcome to be a member of this committee even if
you can’t be present for its first meeting. If you are interested in joining this committee, please let me know by
phone (636-946-6327, ext. 1711) or by email ([email protected]). Also let me know your suggestions.
FROM A LETTER TO DIOGNETUS: THE CHRISTIAN IN THE WORLD I think that one of the most remarkable writings coming to us from the early Church is what you will find below. Thought possible to have been
penned around 130 AD by St. Justin Martyr, one of the first apologists (an “apologist” was Roman citizen who
had become a Christian convert who then tried to explain Christianity to pagan Roman citizens), it offers us
much to think about as we live our Christianity today, especially as we remember and celebrate our relationship with the Trinity today. Please take some time this week to reflect upon and digest its meaning. Through
our living of this message, we bring the life of the Trinity to our world today as did Christians 1900 year ago:
Christians are indistinguishable from other men either by nationality, language or customs. They do
not inhabit separate cities of their own, or speak a strange dialect, or follow some outlandish way of
life. Their teaching is not based upon reveries inspired by the curiosity of men. Unlike some other people, they champion no purely human doctrine. With regard to dress, food and manner of life in general,
they follow the customs of whatever city they happen to be living in, whether it is Greek or foreign. And
yet there is something extraordinary about their lives. They live in their own countries as though they
were only passing through. They play their full role as citizens, but labor under all the disabilities of
aliens. Any country can be their homeland, but for them their homeland, wherever it may be, is a foreign country. Like others, they marry and have children, but they do not expose them. They share their
meals, but not their wives. They live in the flesh, but they are not governed by the desires of the flesh.
They pass their days upon earth, but they are citizens of heaven. Obedient to the laws, they yet live on
a level that transcends the law.…A blessing is their answer to abuse, deference their response to insult….To speak in general terms, we may say that the Christian is to the world what the soul is to the
body.…Christians also live for a time amidst perishable things, while awaiting the freedom from
change and decay that will be theirs in heaven.…Such is the Christian’s lofty and divinely appointed
function, from which he is not permitted to excuse himself.
"PARENTING IN A SEXUALIZED CULTURE"--A WEBINAR: If you receive my parish-wide emails, you know
that I sent you a link to this webinar. In a parish-wide email I sent a week ago, I wrote, I viewed this webinar
last week and was most impressed by this presentation. The Religious Alliance Against Pornography,
the group that produced it, provided this link to the webinar to all who viewed it. Please take some time
to view it if you possibly can. Again, it is REALLY GOOD, offering some very valuable suggestions.
That link is too long to include here, but I would be happy to email it to you if you wish to view this webinar.
Please also let me know if you wish me to include you as a regular recipient of these emails about parish life.
AGAIN PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS: At Easter, we distributed roughly 880 copies of the book Beautiful Mercy written by Matthew Kelly and twenty-six other Catholic authors. The literature about it
describes this book as The perfect companion for the Year of Mercy called for by Pope Francis,
Beautiful Mercy provides an encounter with the heart of God. By focusing on the seven spiritual and
seven corporal works of mercy, it inspires readers to realize that extraordinary acts of love are possible for us all—no matter where we are in life. Our parishioners Mary Beth Olms and Jenny
Beilsmith are organizing a “book club” in which we are all invited to participate. Over six Tuesday
evenings, June 13, 20, 27 and July 11,18, 25, 7:00-8:30 PM, in the Parish Hall, come and explore
the deeper meaning of Mercy, how we can revel in it and how we can live it in our world today.

possible rating given. After the festival they spent the
rest of the day at Six Flags. St. Cletus band members

Sara Kerkemeyer, Elizabeth Osborn, Henry Sheils,
Alyssa Birkenmeier, Peyton Birkenmeier, Maggie
Boschert, Amelia Chruma, Emily Holtgrewe, Veronica Martin, Claire Mascia, Elena Scheve, Rachael

the Gateway Grizzlie Ballpark in Sauget, Il. We would
also like to thank Kevin Kozuszek, Vickie Purcell, and
Terry Osthoff for coaching the children.
On Wednesday, we held our Spring Concert in the
gym. We would like to thank Mrs. Chruma for organizing this event, and the children for the wonderful
effort they have put forth throughout the past weeks.
Thursday was the final day of classes for our 8th grade
students. Please keep the graduating 8th graders in
your prayers as they end their years at St. Cletus and
begin their next phase in their spiritual and academic
careers.

St. Cletus sports program is currently seeking
parents to assist with the soccer program. It is
through volunteers that we are able to keep our
sports programs successful. We have a great
need for parents to volunteer to keep this program going. As of now the current coordinator
will still be running the soccer program, but we
are looking for someone to shadow and for others to help. It would be a great help if a couple
of parents could volunteer to help with some of
the small jobs to keep the coordinator positions
from becoming too overwhelming. We need help
with field preparation, communication with
coaches, concession stand duty, rain out line,
checking players to see if they live within the
St. Cletus boundaries and if not getting a signed
form from their parish, running of the soccer
tournament, uniforms, and other small jobs. If
you can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Without volunteers this program will not be able
to continue running. If you can help please contact Marty Severs at 314-954-0188 or send a
message on fast direct.

SHARE YOUR GIFT/HOW CAN I SERVE?
MARRIAGE PREPARATION COUPLES
If you have a solid marriage and believe in the sacrament, becoming a mentor couple to newly engaged
couples working towards their own matrimony and sacrament is a great gift. Mentor couples meet four times
with engaged couples two on two and share insights
and education about the marriage sacrament. Creating solid marriage is the goal and who knows it might
just strengthen your own sacrament. Contact Deacon
Mark McCarthy at 636-946-6327 or email at [email protected] for more information.
YOU Can Help Your Marriage – 25% of sur-
veyed couples say they are “Happily Married”. For
everyone else there is Retrouvaille. Are you frustrated, hurt or angry with each other? Are you constantly fighting? Or so you simply shut down?
Have you thought about separation or divorce?
Does talking only make it worse? For information
on the Retrouvaille Program, visit the website
www.HelpOurMarriage.com or call 1-800-4702230. The next Program begins the weekend of
June 2-4, 2016.
