The EA ... in the driver’s seat The Euratlantic Project … A major automotive producer 13 regions teamed up under the INTERREG IIIB program An overall view of the Automotive Industry in the Euratlantic Area 13 regions in France, Portugal and Spain have joined to market their territory on an international level amongst North American investors: Normandy, Brittany, Pays de la Loire, Poitou-Charentes, Limousin, Asturias, Galicia, Castilla y León, La Rioja, Andalusia, Norte, Centro, Alentejo. These 13 regions have teamed up within the framework of the Interreg IIIB Atlantic Area Operational Program, Measure D3. The lead party of this project is Ouest Atlantique, the inward investment promotion agency of Western France (Pays de la Loire and Poitou-Charentes regions). A significant turnover contributor Figure: Euratlantic’s partner regions. The overall objective is to enhance the economic growth, vitality and competitiveness of the Euratlantic Area. The turnover of the Automotive Industry in Euratlantic Area is about 40 billion euros. And 147 billion euros for the 3 Euratlantic countries overall. The other four main objectives of this international cooperation project are to: promote a common identity of the Euratlantic Area in North America (USA and Canada); promote the excellence of the Euratlantic Area and position it actively as a destination for investment by North American companies; enhance the attractiveness of the Euratlantic Area; foster better mutual understanding and sharing of best practices between the partner regions. The focus of this international marketing initiative is on the automotive sector, as well as the aerospace and agrobusiness industries.
