April was National County Government Month and Pasco County
Government took the opportunity to recognize the hard-working Pasco
County employees who invest their efforts on behalf of the greater good.
All employees were invited to join the Pasco County Board of County
Commissioners for a special photo opportunity at the Dade City
Courthouse; those who were able to attend were presented with a
resolution commending them for their commitment to the community.
The event was open to the public. Several Pasco County vehicles, including
a Pasco County Fire Rescue engine and a new, blue PCPT Connector bus,
were on site for citizens to view. Pasco County staff were also on hand to
answer questions and discuss the many ways that County government
benefits the community.
“Our employees are called to this mission and deliver crucial
services every day that make a difference,” said Pasco County
Administrator Michele Baker.
Pasco County has 2,100 employees serving the public through more than
100 programs. The mission of Pasco County Government is "Serving Our
Community to Create a Better Future." Each April, counties across the
country dedicate a month to raising public awareness of local government
services and the roles and responsibilities of County offices.

“Pasco County” continued from Page 1
Together with the National Association of Counties, Pasco County actively
promotes programs and services. Counties are the core building blocks for
healthy, vibrant, and safe communities. Nationwide, counties invest over
$100 billion a year in transportation, water systems, and public facilities.
They run most of our local jails and courthouses; maintain the largest
share of roads; and operate more than 900 public hospitals, countless
parks, libraries, firehouses, and 9-1-1 call centers. County transportation
and infrastructure are vital to boosting economic competitiveness, moving
our food efficiently, and maintaining a strong national defense.

Dog Park Improvements at Anclote Gulf Park
a Hit with Pasco Pups
The new and improved dog park at Anclote Gulf Park had its official grand opening and ribbon cutting
in March of 2016. The improvements, made possible by a charitable donation from businessman and
local funeral director Thomas B. Dobies, are a big hit with Pasco County pups and their owners.
Upgrades to the dog park include an additional fenced area for dogs of all sizes, more picnic tables and
covered benches, dog water-fountains, and a canine agility play set. The Anclote Gulf Park is a popular
destination for people and pets. The park is located at 2305 Baillies Bluff Road, Holiday, Florida and is
open from dawn to dusk, seven days a week.

Let Your Voice Be Heard!
2016 Pasco County Citizen Survey
The 2016 Pasco County Citizen Survey is open and ready to receive
feedback from residents! The annual online survey focuses on a variety of
topics related to the future of Pasco County, including transportation
and growth. The survey also asks how often citizens use County-provided
services and solicits feedback on how well the expectations
for service delivery are met. This information, combined with data from a
random-sampling National Citizen Survey and citizen listening sessions,
provides input for prioritizing planning efforts and budget allocations.
“We want all Pasco County residents to have a voice, to be involved
and to have the opportunity to be part of the solution,” said Dr. Marc Bellas,
Organizational Performance Management Director.
The online survey opened on May 2, 2016, and will remain open through
the month of May. To take the survey, visit www.pascocountyfl.net or

Improvements Increase Efficiency
and Customer Experience
The Pasco County Building Construction Services Department
has a new permitting software program, called Accela.
The upgrade was implemented in April of 2016.
Feedback from customers and County staff has been
positive, with indications that the new system is fast
and user-friendly.
“The Accela permitting software will completely
revolutionize how we do business,” said Don Rosenthal,
Assistant County Administrator for Development Services.
This new program puts all construction and permitting
information in one place, making it faster and easier for
customers to request services and monitor the progress
of their projects. It also allows building inspectors to
immediately accept additional service requests in the field.
Professional business customers are required to create a
free online account to access to the new system. Pasco
County is looking forward to the long-term positive impacts
of this improvement and hopes customers will continue to
provide feedback about their experience with the software.

Parking Improvements Coming Soon to
Anclote River Park
Verizon
Brighthouse
Major parking improvements are being made at Pasco
County’s popular Anclote River Park, located at 1119 Baillies
Bluff Road, Holiday, Florida. The grassy, overflow boat
parking area is being paved, complete with a turnaround loop
and marked parking spaces. During construction, the
overflow boat parking area will be closed.
While work on the boat trailer overflow lot is being done,
overflow for cars will be shifted to a different grassy area,
leaving the existing overflow car parking lot available for
about 50 extra boat trailers. Parking will be limited during
this time. It is recommended park visitors arrive early to find
a parking spot.
Pasco County is looking forward to unveiling a new, improved
parking area which will better serve the boating community.
The new parking lot is scheduled to open by late July of 2016.
